Here at the office they have like 6 pcs and 3 imacs, in the years i've worked for this company, i've seen technicians come and go fixing the pcs when the macs the only thing we've replaced is the ram.
Just an observation!

"In any case, anyone serious about gaming has a PS3 or a 360 nowadays, way better experience and catalog than Windows or Mac."
"I'm not joking, having a PC to play games this day is moronic, better games on consoles"this is some mega trolling? right? made me lol so hard, good one! :D
- I hate trying to play a FPS on consoles. Needs me keyboard and mouse!fugged

performance aside, i think the real issue is aesthetics.
- that old chestnut! its a friggin computer not a woman!fadein11

YYYAAAAAAAWWWWWWNNNNNNN...
Mac PC fighting is so outdated.I was on Mac for 8 years and switched to PC 2 months ago. It changed NOTHING to my experience with a computer. Adobe CS5 still the same on both, Chrome is same... iTunes is the same... Windows 7 looks nice, OSX looks nice. Windows 7 never crash, OSX never crash...
Seriously, it's what you create that count, the rest are just tools.

Brilliant.

benfal you are absolutely right. Performance is not really an issue. Anyone who claims their Mac or PC is crashing and that that is really a genuine problem in the year 2011 needs to buy a new machine.
The only meaningful difference is in terms of price and aesthetics. You get more bang for your buck with PC, whereas Mac is more expensive but offers a better user experience and more attention to detail.
There's a reason PCs are more popular and more design and film people prefer Macs, it's not all down to marketing.

- 'better value experience' is a somewhat qualitative and subjective ...nngh. damnit, bit.detritus
- the battle continues...abettertomorrow
- better user experience is also very subjective.. I am much faster on PC than I am on a Mac.. and user experience feels much better especially with the new almighty task bar and how it treats applications and windows and so on.. it's brilliant.Boz

the i bought cost me under 2000$ for a Intel Core i7 2.8GHZ with 18Gb of RAM... yes, 18Gb! Two hard drives set in RAID and two more normal hard drives for a total of 4Tb. An ATI Radeon HD5700 1024Mb of RAM. And a Blue-Ray reader writer thingy. That would have cost me like 6000$ for the same thing with Apple.

benfal, my friend wants to know what config you have with the 18GB ram... like how is it slotted yo?

With Windows 8 you can finally mount ISO files without 3rd party software.
Welcome to 10 years ago windows users
- Boz0
it's not a matter of 3rd party software..it's the fact that there are tons of software companies that Microsoft needs to allow to sell their apps without being called out on monopoly..
microsoft has a free add-on that allows you to do that...most of these things are available online for free from Microsoft but they can't bundle it in the OS to allow competition.
But good job trying to troll.
On the other hand, after years OSX will get TRIM support for SSDs.. YAY!
Maybe, just maybe, if OSX users are lucky, they might get Blu-ray support in like 2015 LOL
- +1fadein11
- Implying anyone wants bluray supportanimatedgif
- also you might have HOURS of free time to tinker with your piece of shit PC boz and installanimatedgif
- hundreds of different 3rd party apps just for basic things. but some of us have a life outside the basementanimatedgif

@Hombre_Lobo I'm not trolling, there are better games and more diversity for consoles these days than on the PC.
Less hassle, better experience overall, and less money spent in the latest graphic card to play just a handful of games every 4 years.

This argument has happened so many times on here but a few intelligent decent people have pointed out the important fact (and I bet their work is good as well) - a computer is a tool and the only real argument going for mac these days is aesthetics... Do you buy a hammer because it looks nice or do you buy a hammer because it does the job. Simple analogy yes but simple ones are the best.
Apple fanboys obsess over looks and get tunnelvision. They don't even know how good windows 7 is... and the power of Apple's brand has made them spend x3 for PC equivalent.
Its all bullshit - focus on the work, use the tools that work and don't get sucked into Apples life-changing bullshit.
At least Microsoft never sold 'dreams' and 'lifesaving' technology.
UTTER UTTER BRAND BULLSHIT. WAKEUP.- haha this is the worst argument ever :p haha comparing a computer to hamer wahahhajasonabc

3x DDR3 2048 Mb Hyundai Electronics PC3-10700 (667 MHz)3x4096Mb + 3x 2048Mb = 18432Mb
