have any of you experienced poor vision after spending years in front of a computer? what do you do to minimize the damage?
- Josev0
Yes, and they're getting worse at an increasing rate. I don't step away enough and do those exercises that my eye doctor suggested (every hour, step away and focus on distant objects, etc.)

Every forty five minutes, spend 5 mins looking at various objects that are distant.
There are also some good exercises for your eyes.

definitely noticed my eyesight getting bad for the past two years or so. looking at far away objects is getting tougher.

I had countless tests and visits to doctors. I sometimes see things "vibrating", angles and corners become oddly skewed. Every few months I have like a hair that appears in one of my eyes for a while and then it goes away. A glowing hair. I can't work with LCD/LED monitors. All I was told is "don't stare at that fucking thing so much". Not bad after 30 years.

And now for the solution: Every time things start "vibrating" what I do is step away from the machine, smoke some, and then everything is skewed and vibrating anyway. Also suddenly I care less and I am less worried by it.

^ Glowing hair?
You sure it's simply not an eye "floater"?BOT, Razorfish expensed my glasses some 12 years ago for messing them up through work. Quite a nice gesture.
As (I assume) everyone here I should probably have listen to the advice received for extended work in front of the screen.
One I believe help, or rather would have helped, was to turn away from the screen every now and then and eye far away spots for a while.- Floater:
http://en.wikipedia.…Peter - Could be it but mine come and go. And no doctor has seen any actual damage.caput58
- Well yeah floaters do come and go. Shape stay the same.Peter
