I've been in the same situation.
I had my own room, the couple was living in their room (slightly larger).
All bills divided by 3. The end.

had similar thing happen. i had 2 room while my bro had 2 smaller rooms. He got married and his wife moved in. we spout everything as follows:
utilities = per person (meaning everyone paid 3rd)
communal space (hallway, kitchen, bathroom) - everyone pays 3rd
personal space (meaning rooms) - by square footage - took some time to figure out but in the end everyone paid equal share of what they occupied (though in a way i was "penalized" for allowing a 3rd person to move in).

I had this same thing happen with me. The roommate had his girl move in without asking me. She lived there for about 2 months. He was a dickhead in multiple different ways. I ended up throwing him down a flight of stairs for something unrelated.
