I re-read mg33's note about the 4:30AM bust.
Did the cops really not read anyone their miranda rights?
Did the cops have a warrent?If not,this isn't TV cop shows where cops routinely break into peoples houses without a warrant and nobody reads miranda rights, this is reality and a smart lawyer may be able to get the cops busted for violating her and her kids rights.
Of course, I'm hopelessly naive, the real solution would be for some low-down dirty politics like somehow photographing the local sherrif in bed with an underage prostitute and suddenly all charges are dropped...
