We need a QBN boarding trip this year. I'm desperate to get out to Colorado. Breckinridge preferred.

I've been wearing a helmet for years and it's saved me more than a few times when I've caught a backside edge and slammed my head down on the East Coast ice. Wouldn't ride without one..

I don't wear a helmet, but I keep it in the park and never hit up huge hits. Once I start, I'll def wear a helmet. Well, if I start I should say.

I haven't gone riding ever since I met my boyfriend. He doesn't know how. I just need to break down and teach him. I have a helmet. I like that back country pow. Better safe than sorry. It doesn't take much to rattle your melon enough to cause brain swelling. I don't wear any other protective gear, but it seems like the worst thing you could do is break your head.

I probably should wear one, but I haven't. All of the snow boarders I go skiing with wear them.

I'll use one if in back country and mixing it up with super steep tree/chocolate chip stuff, especially on a powder day when cat track cluff jumps are a go. The 60 degree chutes are freaky, if you loose an edge, there's no stopping you but your head and a rock/tree.
But not for the packed groomers with friends.
- Take a BD whipet with you. Total game changer for the steep couloirs.UKV

I would not go out without one.
Doesn't matter how good you are, there are a ton of shitty out-of-control riders out there ready to run right into you from behind.

I just bought a nice cheap black one and am in the process of decorating it with a tippex pen

I use one,... because of the other peoples on the slope that are stupid cunts.

I got hit from retards going to fast too close to me, causing me to fall hard on my right knee, twice. Didn't hit my head, but I do have a helmet.
- they let retards ski?manonthestreet

- Seems like they force retards to ski.CyBrainX

my dad had a skiing accident once where his own ski hit him in the back of his head, blood everywhere... he was avoiding a crazy skiing maniac and hit a tree.... he did recover, but not fun...

I wear one 100% of the time since I'm mostly doing terrain park riding when I'm boarding. I also wear padded thermal pants and wrist guards. The sense of confidence is nice.
I would maybe not wear a helmet if I was just doing all freeriding out west or something, but I've got the earpad speakers so I'd probably rather not go without it.

Nope. I know I'm in the minority but I fractured my skull with one on and I hung it up b/c it made me ride like an idiot. I'm prob still an idiot for not wearing one...
Motorcycle yes, snowmobile yes, snowboard no.

I knocked myself out 2 weeks ago (even with a helmet). It's not the first time I've done it, but this probably would have done much more damage had I not had it.
Seems now I keep noticing stuff in the news about people getting killed... Weird how that works. I know it happens every year, just started actually giving a shit I guess :)

I just bought my second snowboarding helmet 2 seasons ago, I guess I had the other one for 4-6 seasons.
I got a Smith Holt which is much more comfortable than my last one ( K2 i thing?) and fits perfectly with my Smith googles so I dont have a gap exposing my forehead.
I don't do parks but ride the trees as much as I can. It also keeps my dry and warm.

Giro shiv helmet and a soft Dainese back protector. Wouldn't ski without a helmet now. Actually makes my skiing better because I'm more confident chucking myself of the mountain (I've been skiing for 25 years)

i dont wear one. i know i should. a simple fall could hurt u up pretty bad. i've retired from the park and all that after shredding my ACL, but should prob wear one even just freeriding.

Probably a smart idea to wear one... regardless of how much of a dork you resemble... :)
I remember when I was a kid and we used to make fun of people for wearing them while skiing / boarding... then a kid I knew got in a wreck and WENT BLIND from his own ski hitting him in the temple... he'd of been fine if he were wearing a helmet.
