"pixels" needs to be tightened so they have the same space width as "crafty"

Crafty doesn't look bad to me. Bring the ls closer to the e in pixels and the p closer to the i.

this one's a little tricky... a few things that stuck out to me though:
kern the c and r just a bit... and the a and f just a bit... leave f and t (don't want it to ligature)... make the space between the t and the y the same as is between the f and t.... "pixels" is pretty loose to me... definitely play with the spacing between the p and i and the e and l...
- if you leave the huge gap between f and t, and tighten the others, it will feel weirdmonospaced
- yeah, i think you're right... but because the right arm of the f and the left of the t are diff. sizes, a lig. will look weird too, no?showpony
- obviously, he could just redraw the arms to make a seamless ligature...showpony

The original isn't that far off. Kerning vertical pairs isn't the trick and everyone keeps pushing you to do it. It's not correct.
You should tighten up the ra pair and the ft pair. Once those are closer it should all feel balanced. Whatever you do, leave the space in pixels as is (except ix could you a tiny bit of tightening).

I find it's easier to observe how the kerning affects the space around the letters rather than in between them..

based on the original I would move the f and t slightly closer together almost touching and the 'ls' slightly left
