Looks like the dark soul of Apple is calling... I'm thus taking a peek at the following...
Apple iMac 21.5" Intel Core i3 3.06GHz Computer
8GB DDR3 system memory
ATI Radeon HD 4670 graphics, 256MB
500GB HDD (SATA?)
CDN$1399 + Tax (fuckers)Primarily for Adobe-land. Storage ain't a big deal; I currently have 10 TB near on-line and there's always this cloud thing people keep bubbling about. I know shit about these shiny white devices (old PC hack) and I am suspecting you folks know a lot more than me - good deal/bad deal?
TIA...

i jumped and got my first (i)mac last march. i got a 27" with 4 gigs for $1500 since 8gigs of ram only cost $140. I got it refurbished as then I knew whatever problems the machine had, were fixed.
- aka, i just bought the additional 8 gigs as they are cheap (used to be $400 now $140)jaylarson

Won't a 27 inch monitor make you go blind faster?
- Yes. That's a risk iMac users take everyday. Oh the sacrifice to appledoublespaced

I bought a refurb 27" i7 core imac. Flying machine for the price of the standard entry level imac. So glad I went of the bigger screen.

see if they have any refurb.

Buy you're 27" monitors, but don't complain to me in 30 years when you go blind and lie in your death beds. Why don't you up the contrast and brightness to 100 max while your at it!

For the folks recommending the refurbished iMac on the Apple UK site...
http://store.apple.com/uk/produc…
...with current conversion rates that's 2,163.69 Canadian - sorry, not for me... similar boxes on the US site (i.e. equivalent to Canadian dollars) are over 400.00 less... yikes.

^ Apple will not ship outside a country, won't even let you use a card from another country. You need to look in the Canadian refurb store:
http://store.apple.com/ca/browse…
Just watch this space, if your model is not there, give it a week or so. Also, there are regular hours Apple updates refurb stock, for Europe it is 0:30 GMT. by 9 am most sought after stuff is gone.
