    I think I see where this is headed - thanks everyone for your guidance and suggestions... so...

    Apple iMac 27" Intel Core i3 3.2GHz Computer
    4GB DDR3 system memory (have no quote, yet, for an additional 4 GB)
    ATI Radeon HD 5670 graphics, 512MB
    1 TB HDD
    CDN$1729 + Tax (still fuckers =)
