Crisis schmisis, Ireland is still the only country where I keep finding coins on street every day, actually often see people not even bother to bend when they drop small change.
Groceries are still as absurdly expensive as they were, pointing at lack of competition and people not looking for better prices. Actually, everything is as expensive as it's been for years.
Maybe rents dropped a bit but seem to be climbing back up now.

EU says, take bailout or else, end of the world
Ireland says, no worries, everything's fine

they're giving us money to bail out our bank so our banks can bail out their banks.
to bail out their banks they don't care what effect that will have on the irish taxpayer now and in the future.

one of the key negotiation point is ireland's low corporation tax.
One of the reasons the EU, IMF and everyone else have been urging this money so they can negotiate new regimes on Ireland.

I'm loving all the pictures of beggars on O'Connel bridge that are in the media.
There's been beggars on that bridge for decades

Ireland lost independence last year alongside some 20 small countries when it accepted Lisbon Treaty. It is merely a province of European Union which was founded on December 1st last year and formally is a state.

I can't quite square the idea of a country with too much debt being saved by a loan.
