is that right, sorry our artist taste don't match up, I know nothing about you but I do know I'd never write "there is nothing i like about that site" with-out an explanation as to why? were the colors too much for you? size off? give some hints to your comment.. you sound like someone who knows exactly what they like, that's great, please educate us.

the reason i don't like it is the bg is too busy and not important. the scaling of the type is too large, the idea of a contact page is very outdated and the navigation to the sections is unimaginative. look into a grid that matters. worry about at least 1024 width and care what it looks like as much as you care to defend it

thanks for YOUR opinion, again a disagreement as to what I'm trying to portray, if this were a clients site, it would adhere to all the usability aspects you brought up but my friend, this is not suppose to be the norm, I could have made the navigation more interesting but why? looks and functions as thought out. Have you seen the site on an iPad, it looks terrific, what do I take with me to client meetings or interviews.. my iPad, so for me the most important device I'm shooting for is an iPad, as far as the contact page being outdated? when did forms become outdated?
Again, sorry you didn't like my work, you really need to work on tact then criticize either that or give me a link of yours to poke holes in, fair?

You know, I like to get opinion on unfinished work so if someone likes the finished work they could see the process and even throw some opinion in there.

some suggestions and overall comments:
- the text is crazy tight and difficult to read. it comes off as tense
- loosen it up and you'll lose the widow "efforts" on your home page
- create a new class for your copyright and drop that text size in half
- you need to create a greater typographical hierarchy. objective should be bigger, body copy smaller, copyright even smaller. everything is bold and near the same size and it fights for attention
- a fullscreen b&w background image would look pretty fantastic rather than the very tight, cropped one you currently use
- footer barf. < that was actually a typo of bar but i'm going to leave it because it makes sense. the footer bar, it would really calm the page if you made it a medium shade of gray
- the butterfly looking logo is just kind of chillin all by itself. i'm not sure if it's part of your name, part of your identity or a bell and whistle for the sake of a bell and whistle to help fill the space. lose it or hang it off of the r in your nameoverall. great start. i like it's simplicity but it could really be pushed rather easily to the next level.

Let it breathe, everything feels claustrophobically squished. There is no type hierarchy. Don't use bold on nearly every word. The way the site looks gets in way of the content, aka, the content, which is supposed to be the most important part, takes backseat to something that looks like it's from 1997.

That being said, a lot of your work is nicer than your site. See comments above for why-you should really simplify and organize a bit more. And I really would par down what you display---only show the best. For example, I don't need to see that Wish Studios mockup. That looks just awful. Instead, go more in depth with the nicer projects, and show me more of them and your role in them, rather than just one screenshot!

you took the time to put all that together just for me, a little obsessed or just plain bored? still no links.. the same # of people I've run by say the opposite so it's a matter of opinion, can we agree to disagree on that? I'm not quite sure how I have a couple Comm arts awards and Webby's when my work just isn't cutting it..

I just wanted to make sure i wasn't alone in my thoughts, found other people had already given you the same advice i was. you're just not good at this is all. i work with people on this board both being hired by them and hiring them. if your reactions to these critiques are how you would take art direction, i'd be pissed if you ever wasted my time defending shit you were told to change.
