How about a list of nice basic list of SEO techniques.

Trooperbill, I build lots of websites for clients, and include a link to my website at the bottom of each. What's the best way to do this to enhance SEO - should the anchor text be the same on each site, or vary? Should the links always link to my homepage, or vary too? Thanks

trooperbill, the SEO guy at my work is over weight and always grumpy, are all SEO guys like him and if so what can I do to help?
- trooperbill0
@jamesBoynton the problem is these lists go out of date. If you have any specific questions or want a walk-through then email me and we can chat

@Nightshade some people love site-wide 'boiler plate' links, some seos hate them, for me i think as a credit for the work they work well. i'd vary the link across your target keywords something like
[link]web design london[/link] by Mycompany Ltd

@Ancillary yes im afriad we're all far and bad tempered... usually because we end up cleaning up some 1/2 arsed developers code or have to pander to a client who wants to be #1 for 'sex' all of a sudden. my advice is to take your SEO for walks in the park, throw him a treat or two and always make sure he has a clean blanket to sleep on lol.
SEOs are all under appreciated, people hate us, we're like politicians - scrub that people think we're like politicians lying and cheating our way to the top when in the real world we're constantly stressed out by demanding clients wanting to know why their new site launched last week isnt #1 for their term yet (despite us telling them it could take a year)

How good does SWFAdress really work?
- trooperbill0
@Ravdyk It works ok but its a small factor. to be honest i dont have that much experience in actionscript, im more a timeline animation guy.

Hey trooperbill (or whoever is listening)...
One of my websites recently got hacked. The hack would redirect a user to a spam URL when they landed on any page of my site. This was about a month ago.
I'm not sure if this is related or not, but when doing a Google search for the client's key phrase last week I noticed a spam URL listed which has stolen some of the content from the website's homepage. Basically, a web cam sex girls type of domain name has stolen some of our content and is now ranking for our keywords.
I want to submit this spam website to google for removal, but for the life of me I can't figure out how. I found this link (http://www.google.com/support/w... which says to "contact the webmaster and ask them to remove the content," but obviously that's not going to work.
Any suggestions?
