Now I'm jealous. Anyone in Brentwood who'd like to trade their apartment for one in Tokyo for a couple of years?

I lived in Mt Washington for years, just in between Silverlake and Eagle Rock. A lot of nice, affordable houses, and still really close to Hollywood. Eagle Rock is a cool neighborhood too.

- to about $200,000RW
- i seen places in downtown for 350 - 400k.akrok
- maybe down to 300k.akrok
- could find a short sale.akrok
- downtown is up and coming also.akrok
- 300,000 is too much but I'll check out what's around DT anyway thxRW

^ Mt Washington is really nice.
Try Highland Park, Eagle Rock, Atwater Village. Not to advertise for them but, the Redfin App is pretty cool for finding open houses.

I live in Downtown LA in the Arts District, and I like it here. But it all depends on what your needs are. Also, your commute may be a big part of your decision since LA is a driving-only city.
