Ok, glad to know it isn't my computer.
I recently updated to 3.6.8 and it continually comes to a chugging halt, often just freezing altogether. IE seems to be working smoothly.
So what is the consensus? FF has seen better days, time to move onto Chrome?
Is there any hope for a fix? These negative posts seem to go back a year or so, seems like there has been ample time...

I dunno, but I am getting sick of FF sometimes taking up more memory than bloody PhotoShop.

Tab Candy looks cool:

Apparently Firefox waits until late at night, turns your computer on then rummages through your recycle bin creating a mess all over your desktop.
After hearing this I moved over to chrome.

Chrome isn't much different from Safari, except the UI on Chrome is fucking horrible.
Especially that joke of a downloads window

Chrome started asking for Login Keychain permission. Anyone else getting this?

Moved over to chrome on the laptop - weirdly though it seems to interfere with the autoshutdown, so if I fall asleep listening to radio on iPlayer, my computer's still on the next morning, which never happens with Firefox. Still, at least the poor old machine doesn't sounds like it's about to take off, overheating from a single Flash app...
More investigation required.

I hear you, formed. That last update was the final straw - made FF not worth the time anymore. Switched to chrome and still use safari for somethings. It is a shame because when it worked, I really like FF, but it has become so bloated and slow.
I suspect it has had one too many fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches and will soon die while sitting on the bog.

Thanks for the thoughts. Its weird (and frustrating) that some days it runs smoothly, then seems to get bogged down and crash, then works ok for a while, etc.

I'm actually back to using FireFox again. I am using Chrome less for the exact same reason I stopped using FF initially, it has become a bloated POS. Reel in your shit Google!
- i've been using FF a bunch since chrome has been having major issues rendering pages. then in installed src fan control, no problem. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯jaylarson
