What is the minimal requirements for a PC Laptop if to run CS4/ CS5 Suite?
I'm on a budget of $1,500 - but I'm not familiar with Windows, when it comes to performance handling specially photoshop and flash files.
I'm not going to be running any video editing on it.Thanks

i've had a few dell laptops that ran the creative suite fine with 1 gig of RAM. I would recommend at least 4 gigs now, but I think you can safely get something that has enough power in your price range.

- that is minimum requirements - I was looking for good benchmarks from designersSoulFly

You should find plenty of options in that range.

At least 4GB RAM, Intel i7 and you're set.

if you are doing professional work you need a MacBook Pro because it has Pro in the title. So when you sit down with a client they know you mean business.
- oh godckentish
- PIZZA is right though ;)monospaced
- some clients are impressed by aluminum and logos, some fear you're too expensive for themvaxorcist

But seriously Adobe software uses power terribly (esp Flash dev tools) so its not like it will be using all those cores or anything, so pretty much anything that isn't consumer level will do with lots of ram.

Or get a refurbished MacBook Pro and go bootcamping.

You will be fine with $1500

Thanks guys- I work on macs, but I need to set someone up with a PC, reason why I was asking.

VAIO's are good looking, a bit pricey and don't know about quality etc.

just don't have a million browser windows open and close any bit torrent clients and your windows laptop suddenly becomes useful....

people go way over the top on specs.
i have 3 gig RAM and a dual core 32bit 2.23 ghz - an old one (t2700) and its all good. After effects can take some time rendering but its OK, not ideal but ok.
4 gig of ram and a processor like this or better -

will be sufficient. Your mileage may vary though.$1,500 you could almost get 2 laptops good enough for what you need.

No prob soulfly. Here's more info if it helps -
My bro is primarily a flash developer but does print work too and recently got a v nice Sony viao 4 gig ram, t6600 CPU and it works like a beast. Cost him about £600.
It could open complex a4 print 300 dpi Photoshop files in about 5 seconds.
Refer to that benchmarking link I posted above for CPU performance. Without it, it can be nightmare finding out what you're paying for!
- Flash barely uses the power you give it anyway, really badly programmed.PIZZA
