What would you think are good Type exercises and projects for "Type beginners"?
I have a list of ideas but would love to get your opinion... Thanks!

in my first typography class we had to design book jackets given the title, author and a blurb. wouldn’t say it was the best lesson but it’s a solid exercise to get into the character of the typeface you’ve chosen as well as laying out a composition and learning about the book as a 3D object

in another lesson we had to take photos of typography in public space (shop signs etc) and then we had to make a small book with these photos. I wish they would have tought us more of the basics instead of giving us such a fun project.

some of you may use https://www.prototypo.io/
"Prototypo will be sunsetted July 1, 2020 and doesn't accept new subscription."
maybe use the quarantine to tend to any projects you thought you'd finish later

I hear you pressplay. As much as it should be fun, fundamentals should be taught first in order to understand it properly... Any other suggestions for Type projects? Thanks!
