It's Dreamweaver. It is what it is. Bloated, but still useful for real-time visual reference.

Worth $399.00?
I am thinking that if it gets me around someone else's WP that I have to redesign, it might be very worth it.But really I think I am bored
- Spend $100 on Coda instead and save yourself $200.d_rek
- $+100 :)d_rek
- use textedit 0$siaukia
- Coda FTW.Continuity
- EditPlus+ for Windows is also good.Continuity

It's still useful for formatting code.

I'll put it to you this way: if you're still using CS3 or 4, and are doing just fine, then I wouldn't bother shelling out that kind of money.
If, though, you rely on DW's built-in features extensively, then you'd better look at the website to see what's new, to see if there's anything you would benefit from.

But I don't think I've "needed" any of the new Adobe products since CS1 or 2.

download the trial version and see for yourself

Dreamweaver is utter garbage, there is not a single reason to use it for modern web development. It stopped being a viable choice all together about 4 years ago. Dreamweaver is a terrible WYSIWYG HTML creation tool, a fucking terrible and bloated programming text editor and an atrocious CSS Editor not to mention a fucking ripoff.
Check the following out, all superior to Dreamweaver and all a fraction of the cost.
Textmate - http://macromates.com/
Espresso - http://macrabbit.com/espresso/
CSSEdit - http://macrabbit.com/cssedit/
Coda - http://www.panic.com/coda/"still useful for real-time visual reference."
All the programs listed above have real time previews, CSSEdit in particular is very impressive, the closest thing you will ever get to a sensible WYSIWYG enviroment.- < thanks!Christa
- DW is fine for basing coding. If you're using the WYSIWYG editor, however, uninstall immediately.juhls
- My main point is DW is a terrible code editor too. Try what I suggested and see what you are missingPIZZA
- DW is a good code editor, you're clearly not using it right.jamble
- I use Coda, CSSEdit, and Textmate, and Dreamweaver is still fine.juhls

I have a cd of Dreamweaver 3 from like 1999. I use it to make table-based html emails. No shit.
