should Apple ban this?

Fair enough. I can look at whatever I want on the web browser but how long until I can only get content for their devices through the iTunes store? Books, comics, movies etc. It is a frightening trend.

Yeah exactly, fucking LOL at people terrified at their rights being taken away. First off the whole point of having rules is that if they didn't people would get even more whiney because then it would be completely arbitrary.
Second of all it's just a store at the end of the day like any other. There's zero difference between Apple and hundreds of other companies who run a store of some kind, from Wal-Mart to Blockbuster Video or a locally owned bookstore, Amazon dot com or even direct competitors like the Zune equivalent of iTunes, who all do exactly the same thing.

I just think there is a much larger picture to this then brand management. I understand the argument from a business and branding standpoint but considering the cultural impact of these products and their usage I think the argument has to go beyond brand management.
Think about it this way. Most users our there will get very used to using apple products and software. Thats a no brainer. They do an excellent job at making technology available to the non tech savvy. These people generally will not go to alternative sources to acquire content. They will go the easy way which is through the apple store. Their content will be censored and they wont even know it. It will become accepted that the content available through the company store is the only or "best" stuff out there anyway.
I'm not a huge conspiracy guy but I find this scenario very possible and frightening.

I mean, personally I would draw the line somewhere else. But it's not like you can find hardcore porn on Amazon, and that's a WAY bigger audience than the Apple app store.

@ukit. Very true. You can make the same argument about Blockbuster and the movies the put on their shelves. It's up to them what they want to present and the consumer can always go and take the time to find an independent movie rental place that has a different selection.
My concern is that its not really about porn per se. It's about content and access to it. I also know I'm placing Apple on way to high a pedestal. They are just a company making money after all.

Apple chooses what they want to sell. If they don't like it, then they're not gonna sell it. You can still view anything on your iPhone, just you need to go through other channels.
A couple of naked pictures can easily be placed in a PDF or the website can be viewed from the iPhone browser.
