    I just think there is a much larger picture to this then brand management. I understand the argument from a business and branding standpoint but considering the cultural impact of these products and their usage I think the argument has to go beyond brand management.

    Think about it this way. Most users our there will get very used to using apple products and software. Thats a no brainer. They do an excellent job at making technology available to the non tech savvy. These people generally will not go to alternative sources to acquire content. They will go the easy way which is through the apple store. Their content will be censored and they wont even know it. It will become accepted that the content available through the company store is the only or "best" stuff out there anyway.

    I'm not a huge conspiracy guy but I find this scenario very possible and frightening.
