Maybe this needs to go on the politics thread and might even get deleted, but where the fuck are all those humanitarians that were all over Haiti tragedy and human rights, caring about 'democracy' and 'freedom' or violations around the world????
Does it not count because it is a mexican boy?
- ideaist0
the world has lost her humanity...
- OSFA0
I mean, I understand there are laws, but who gives this idiot the right to shoot at a kid? If this happened in China, Iraq or somewhere the US could fly to and get some good press by 'caring' it would be all over the news... maybe it gets to me since I have 2 boys...
- You don't know what gets to you. You're just like Pavlovs Dog. Ding!FredMcWoozy
- kids got shot in iraq on reular basis from 2003 till 2007, no body careddavebellechique

This is all the rage right now , and today's healdline was that the boy was a "known smuggler" , what a way to demonize the poor kid
http://www.elpasotimes.com/ci_15…
and just yesterday you had a Mexican Standoff between Mexican Federales and U.S Border Patrol literally pointing guns at each other at the crime scene- I guess that's why it is called a mexican standoffflashbender
- utopian0
the innocent kid was a drug dealer and immigrant smuggler.

I truly don't know what to say, poor kid.
- TNDAP0
Terrible.
- georgesIII0

Wait until Obama's 120,000 troops arrive on the border. That's when the fun will really start!
- CALLES0
but yeah... no words sad
- dirtydesign0
supposedly they were throwing baseball sized rocks at border patrol. other than that i'll keep my opinions to myself.
- lowimpakt0
throwing rocks doesn't warrant being shot in the face.
- stoplying0
Are you mad at the humanitarians? Or the people that shot the poor kid?
- georgesIII0
I remember hearing from legit sources that the us border patrol stops three terrorist a day,
maybe he was one.

Agree, you are a 'trained' agent, I am sure you could use something other than a 40mm to the head...
- dirtydesign0
i'm not saying the shooting is justified... but if several people were throwing rocks at you and you had a gun, you might fire it
- a rock to the head can kill you by the waydirtydesign
- not if you are trained in risk managementBattleAxe
- risk management? If a big rock hits you in your temple, you're dead. No 'risk management' involved.orrinward
- joe blow vs u.s border patrol is not the same shitBattleAxe
- self defense....whatsup
- if you manage the risk you will duck or move.set
- or call for backup and take the high ground like a professionalBattleAxe

I agree with dirtydesign. If the immigrants weren't being violent then it'd be completely outrageous.
It may not be justified but a violent mob needs to be dealt with. Not by shooting them in the head necessarily. If they hadn't been throwing rocks they wouldn't have died.
The end result isn't justified but the whole thing could have been prevented simply by not starting violence against border patrol. Violent acts is what causes the border patrol to get trigger happy and nervous.
With all the shit that goes down with armed cartels and such I fully understand how any form of violence could cause an escalated reaction.

I appreciate what you just wrote there, orrinward...
... the gangs on the border are EVIL... ... pure evil - reading what some of you wrote it sounds as if you think the agents on the border are a bunch of trigger happy hillbillies...... I don't envy their job at all - and they need MORE help than what they have...
... it would also probably help a bit if Mexico actually gave a shit about their people
- The Mexican President Condemned the shooting , I think they careBattleAxe
- lol... I'm talking about their border problems... their drug issues... their kidnapping issues...PonyBoy
- ... that government is ridiculously corruptPonyBoy
- And Americans want their drugs. And our system is corrupt. Pick your poison.TheBlueOne
- Are you justifying their corruption, tbo?PonyBoy
- Just saying the War on Drugs here in the US has distorted our law enforcement system as wellTheBlueOne
- ..and the American market need for drugs is the gas in this fire.TheBlueOne
- The War on Drugs is a huge self=perpetuating money making machine for corporations.TheBlueOne
- And a source of revenue for local, state & fed agencies. No one is going to let go of that teatTheBlueOne
- It's a different type of corruption, but perhaps more insidious.TheBlueOne
- This is why I have been for the legalization and regulation of drugs for sometime... I do agree w/you, tbo... 'mericans 'need'PonyBoy
- and you're too right about that 'teat'... so much money to be made off this 'war' on drugsPonyBoy
- just legalize and regulate (tax) the shit out of them... ... like alcohol etcPonyBoy
- I'm more of on the de-criminaliztion side than outright legalization, but same difTheBlueOne
- Not sure if I want Marlboro marketing joints or Pfizer marketing cocaine..TheBlueOne
- All the tobacco companies already have trademarks on marijuana cigarette brand names. Had 'em for decades now.TheBlueOne
- hahaha... understood - wow... could you imagine the marketing campaigns?PonyBoy
- although - I'd be willing to bet that the marketing would be regulated to no tv / radio like cigsPonyBoy
