^ just reading the comments. the people that always say "who cares?!" and "it's just a phone!" are retarded. It's not JUST a phone, thats the whole point of it... it's a million different things all combined into one very compact unit - which makes it pretty fucking cool and useful.

it's very cool and super useful no doubt. i know i want one. i think the "it's just a phone" comments are usually preambled with some ridiculous story about people waiting in line by themselves a week prior to release or other people losing their minds and spazzing because their preorder didn't process, etc. and they won't get that device until one week later (*twitch) but omg this is so not cool how could they do this to me i need that thing asapz what the hell who cares about my babies or my marriage right now it's world of warcraft time the great space coaster end scene.

I think the sheep thing is funny. It's like if a machine was made that did your taxes, cooked dinner, cleaned your house, did your day job, ran your errands, made tea, gave you blowjobs, fit in your pocket, and was provided at a low price point, everyone would get one, no? Why wouldn't you? It's a good machine, that does lots of things that are beneficial to you.
And when they came out with a new version that also painted your house, you'd have people waiting in line to get one. You'd also have people hating on the line-waiters. Why? Who knows. Maybe some people like doing their taxes and painting their house by hand.
Point is, the iphone is a good machine. It *IS* more than a phone, because I have owned many other phones before, and this does much more. It's not a miracle or girlfriend or pinnacle of existence, and it does not do my taxes or give me blowjobs, but it is, in fact, a very nicely designed piece of technology that I find to be very useful in numerous situations.
Anyway, has anyone jailbroken os4? I'm doing it right now (im on t-mobile) and was wondering if anyone has had any problems.

the two owners of the company that I'm working for (at) at the moment just got two iphones via UPS...
... fuckers knew the 4 (that's it... FOUR PEOPLE) other folks in the office (including me) were looking forward to getting ours too... ... but didn't bother to include us when hitting up their 'contact' at AT&T when scoring themselves each a new one...
... I've threatened to break both their phones if they bring them near me... ... jerks :(

For anyone else having trouble getting gmail synced up...
Don't do the gmail choice - set up the Exchange server option instead. I have been messing with the calendar for 2 hours to get it to show all my google calendars and sync properly. Once I enabled email on that account, it worked. The gmail option refuses to accept my password.

Quick question, I've had my first gen jailbroken/unlocked iPhone forever, but will upgrade to a 3gs since I refuse to switch to ATT, but, can you jailbreak/unlock 3gs phones? Have any of you done it?

I walked by and couldn't believe my eyes. The line literally goes around the entire block. I walked by and took pictures, pointed and laughed at them. Some people even brought their kids with them. There is no sensor that can be fit into a phone to capture a photo in the same way that a point and shoot or DSLR would. It's the same marketing jargon that they sell point and shoots with, causing ill-advised consumers to think that more megapixels equals better picture quality.
