ok here goes... I'm looking for some feedback on my site, if any of you can spare a couple of minutes... hopefully won't get ripped to shreds but i'd really appreciate your feedback as i'm sure there's plenty of room for improvement... thanks.

I think if you are gonna give the user an ability to click on portfolio pieces in Web. you should do the same in print and personal.
for the website. I think the links are distracting. I clicked on those first thinking that was how you were displaying the work.
I would connect links with the images somehow.

you need to show more work

I would also like to see multi-views including detail shots that show off your design solutions. As is, the images are too small... and because your single image presentation makes no emphasis on any particularly interesting areas that I should pay attention to, I leave the site without anything being very memorable.

the "welcome" and the "we provide" makes it feel waaay too corportate is that of your desire ?
- Yeah, that's odd for a one person shop.Andrew_D
- Doesn't work to call yourself "We", especially when you spell out that it's just you in the About section.duckofrubber

why do you have a sitemap?

I'm not trying to be mean, but it looks quite dated. The rotating images is not doing anything for your work. How about a proper portfolio section with multiple images of the sites you've done or print pieces. It really lacks any sort of intuitive navigation.
The site itself seems kinda small and too boxlike(Open it up, explore different layouts, design to the 960 grid if you need structure.) I'm not sure what your level of coding is at, which is why maybe you'd be better off with a Krop account or one of the other unmentionable portfolio cms options out there.
Isabelle, if you're just a one person shop, why are you using "we" all the time in your copy?

ok cool thanks for the feedback... i know there's a lot to improve so appreciate all your input
think the image galleries/tone/layout defo need a rehaul...

Type is too small, and yellow type is difficult to read on white.

Bigger!

Very well done, interesting pieces on the web samples, to the point, shows interest in the field. Seems like you got your self a nice site going there.
Congratulations!

the actual work looks not bad but would be better if the user could click

- pango0
um..... i really don't like it when i can't stop the photos from switching...
and whats the different from site map and the top navigation bar?
- Chimp0
Well done on getting your site up!
Here are a few comments.
Yellow type on white background isn't legible.
Navigations type is too small.
It feels a bit small.
Would be nice to be able to navigate the work rather than clicking on links or waiting for the images to fade up.Over all the site feels very corporate in its use of colour and typography.

- The design of the site really too austere;
- The third-person voice - unless you're representing yourself as an agency - needs to disappear;
- Along the same lines, you have a section labelled 'Personal', in which you use the first-person voice; in other words, this is inconsistent. Pick one and stick with it;
- Instead of just providing links and images to work you've done, you should do a write-up on each piece, with copy summarising what the project is, the rationale for doing what you did and talking about results (where appropriate).

brilliant, this is so helpful... thanks for taking the time to reply everyone.

- Utilize the canvas better (you can safely assume that people use 1024x768 screen res, minimum).
- Reconsider your colors. Yellow on white-ish is nearly illegible, and yellow + dark blue on white just doesn't look professional to me.
- Use bigger and more elegant or classic type.
- Make your work more visible. Show it up front – that's why people go to your site., most likely. I would make the thumbnails bigger too.

The overall feel is kind of sterile... don‘t get me wrong, I like a minimal approach but then you need some elements to add warmth and personality. Go further with your logo and the font you chose for the menue, play with sizes, ever thought about taking photos of your print work? And make it more an experience to browse through your work, work on the navigation, make the gallery pics bigger and let the user decide what he wants to see and for how long.
