a lot of them feel entitled to be asshole cuz they can make little cute drawings

Whether your work sucks or not, I do think it was unprofessional of them to be so harsh. They could've saved time and breath by quickly looking over your work, keeping the comments to a minimum, and telling you they'll be in touch if they wish to chat with you further.
- thats what i was looking for.. what i wasnt ready for was the feeling of being completely usless to everyone as i walk out the doorpockets

/\ I love the Ventura one, the person obviously doesn't know what they're on about, be glad you didn't get the job

I dunno, most people wouldn't go out of their way to insult someone unless they were provoked or something. I have a feeling we aren't getting the whole story and we never will.
- Maybe you're right, I was just trying to give the benefit of the doubt. Something does seem to be missing from the story.gramme
- yeah, the work in question.M_C_P
- I see it from your side too, gramme. I'm just discussing the other possible scenario.monospaced

he said im a illustrator more then anything.. my logo portfolio was "missing diversity"
unfortunately i have none of the original logo work only print due to my ex g/f's dad dropping my 500gb external with pretty much my life on it.
so i need new work as far as logos.. but as far as my cartography I think my work is rather good in comparison to others.
he told me to get a entry level job doing whatever and spend my days off making new work because what i have isnt worth a damn

that work is shit^ and id admit it. considering there was no time or effort put into either of those..
but that wasnt the work in question..http://www.top-notchcleaningserv… is shit.. made as a "draft" for pro bono work for a friend..
maybe i just need a new fucking career
- Do you want to be a graphic designer? Or work in Mapping/Cartography...ETM

i think we can all be assholes on any given day under the right circumstances. that said, not everyone is going to like your work, all of the time. perhaps you'll rethink some things for your next interview. i actually think the bit about opening the phonebook and picking a company to redesign sounds like more "sophomore homework assignment" advice.

woh. take it easy man. your work isn't shit. you just had a bit interview.
take a deep breath and get back at it.

when i was in school and handed an assignment to redesign some local cleaning service or valet company, i ignored it, because i knew no matter how sweet it ended up, that i would never want it in my portfolio. my advice is to keep designing the things you love if you're going to bulk up your portfolio with spec work.

he is right that you do need more and better work, but it sounds like he said it like a cock
