Not sure about colour yet. Probably use colour paper stocks and/or print finishes to bring it to life.

Looking at it again, No 3 has got to go. Every time I look at it, my brain reads 'Snape'.
And No 2 FTW; like zr says, it's got curves to go with the geometry.

if slightly less bold and with a little extra something.
Extra something meaning play with one of the circles, or letters, or something else to make it not just spelled out with a fun font.

Why are you guys called shape? And why is the logo shaped like this? This looks more like a styling job. Which is what most people call design of course, but it isn't If you carefully pick a font that sort of illustrates what the word says.

to clear a few things up:
1) we haven't just used a font. number 02 is the result of a study on several fonts.
2) the idea of shape does extend across our brand, the idea of "shape" is used in both literal terms and in reference to the overall process of branding a company i.e. shaping a business. we're trying to use the emphasis on shape to reflect our commitment to much more than just a piece of design work for a customer. we want to communicate the idea that we put a lot of thought into how our work will fit into their brand and reflect in their daily processes.To us, shape reflects a commitment to a more complete service, not just a shit in, shit out design studio.

At the moment I can see that you're using shapes in your proposed logos for 'Shape' - and I suppose that could be called a concept of kinds. (Although, perhaps it's not a very interesting concept - because it's overly straightforward).
If you could run with a more deeply considered concept, and communicate that via your logo - I don't think you'd need to worry so much about all the naysayers who are telling you your style is outdated. Perhaps style becomes a critical focal-point in the absence of substance?
When I think of shape, I think the concept is closer to 'refinement' (to find the best fit). I think it suggests an iterative process and it's related to work-flow. Maybe, when something is 'shaped' it's crafted...
(... i.e you could easily have a few good brainstorming sessions - if you haven't already - and integrate the result into your designs.)

I actually did a logo for an HR company called Shape last year, this is what I ended up with

Here is another concept they didn't go with, I liked the idea of the type of course staying the same while the shape and colour of the box could change. Thought id post just maybe as some inspiration anyway..

What if "shape" was a non-logo?
Look at the processing that rick valicenti and john maeda do. What if shape was the result of process? What if SHAPE was NEVER the same in any one application - but gained uniformity from it's context?
