It's great.
what's wrong with you?

It's a nice lil' app.
It should just integrate all the vector drawing controls that can be found on a 3d app. Then it would become a kickass app.

my computer gets faster and faster every year, but the adobe apps get slower and slower...
- Tanj0
Good stuff.
Needs better vector optimizing tools, more blob brush features, HSB default for sliders, larger color pallet/color wheel, 3D style symmetry tool, complete compatibility with Flash, Photoshop smart objects, and pages.
Also would like brightness slider for the UI like the one in After Effects/Bridge.
- Tanj0
More of a Flash feature, but also Photoshop and Illustrator smart objects or linked files for Flash.
So basically you could have Photoshop and Illustrator files contained within your Flash library. You double click them to open in the correct application (like Photoshop does with Illustrator smart objects).
I think all Adobe apps should have this.
- just select filter "smart objects" in layer palette. boom.mekk

What I don't get is why simple effects such as drop shadow and bevel/emboss slow things down so much when they work so smoothly in InDesign. Oh and the clipping mask vs. paste into issue.

Bump.
- fruitsalad1
- yeah make your accurate adjustments in this tiny little window - suckers.fruitsalad
- Or just make envelope with the shape above like a normal person.monospaced
- lol, what are you trying to do with that toy? the reason why is this so simple because it's for people who can't use illu. properly. just want something quick.sted
- Just wanted to quickly taper something. Want a tool that works like the deformation tools in Cinema 4Dfruitsalad
- I agree that a more streamlined way to do that would be great. Try to distort using shape above. It does what you want even if it's not elegant.monospaced
- huh? What is this for??
There is a live free distort right there in the tools panel!!!Projectile

Love it.
I used to design websites in mere hours using illustrator right up until 2005 when my then Creative Director insist I switch to PSDs.
Triple the effort, half the results.
That god that shits done with. I rarely use PSDs for digital work.
- Before prototyping software, Illy was the thing for me too. So much easier to move and alter layout elements than PS. PS would be the final polish back in theETM
- "pixel-perfect" layout days. Ahhh memories.ETM
- A CD telling you what software to use is a bit questionable.CyBrainX
- He got fired.monoboy
- my guess is that you never tried vector drawing in ps?!%sted
- Guess again.monoboy
- left a studio because of illy/ps debates. cool times!doesnotexist
- cannot see what the benefit of nasty sluggish Illy over PS is... PS has vector tools / text etc. Really don't get it.fadein11
- Why use vector tools in bitmap editing software when illy is a vector editing tool? Makes no sense. Illy is much much faster.monoboy
- As does using anything other than HTML to design something that renders in HTML to be honest.monoboy
- Sketchbook --> Prototype = website.monoboy
- I still do work for agencies that insist on using PSDs. They get style tiles for desktop and mobile and a huge invoice. https://dl.dropboxus…monoboy

- All the shapes are editable vectors.monoboy

I love it, but fuck me the Warp Tools are terrible.
- DaveO0
I wish you could just maintain a certain legacy set of features and still update
- d_gitale0
anchor point handles not snapping to grid anymore is fucking annoying - why not give users the option ?
- monospaced0
Smart guides completely disabled in isolation mode. Fucking useless sometimes. Smart my arse.

Every time that my iMac crashes when I restart it...all of my Adobe saved presets preferences in every Adobe app (PS, ID, AI) are lost!

Illustrator on CC is the glitchiest pile of shit ever - from slow/non-updating mini views in the layers panel to incorrect colour hilighting when objects are selected to.. well, loads of other shit.
Just now, this.
HOW IS THIS EVEN POSSIBLE?!
Literally, how is it physically possible for me to to copy an object, then try and paste it and for Illustrator to somehow swap the copied object for text from a dialogue pop up?!
- is Paste Remember Layers turned on?monospaced
- and that is weirdmonospaced
- Nope, I've never even used that, haha.
It was my fault - I tried posting to a locked layer, fair enough. It's what it did after that that's weirded me out.detritus - That paste remembers layer feature can be very useful.CyBrainX
- I have never got on with Illustrator. Freehand was so much smoother and drawing tools in Flash way back were slicker (back then you could export EPS from Flash)fadein11
- +1burnt
- paste remember layers can be very helpful yes ... also a pain when you don't want itmonospaced

Try the 10-day free demo of Affinity Designer. It will blow you away how much better it is at being Illustrator than Illustrator CC itself. They seriously took everything wrong with AI and fixed it and made it fast.

I am looking into gravit.io at the moment. feels more intuitive.
anyone using it already?
- Glitterati_Duane3
I jump between Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign depending on context. It is as God intended.
- Al_dizzle0
Anyone have an issue with the cursor tracking in illustrator CC being so slow? It only happens on the artboards, and its irritating as hell.
Am I missing some buried setting somewhere?
