Live without your smartphone?

Email is the main reason I got one finally. Just because I can't check personal email at a client site for security reasons. Other than that I mostly appreciate maps, radar, and a good traffic app if I could find one. It really does make commuting and travel easier. Nothing is really crucial, just nice to have.

hard to imagine life w/o smartphone nowadays... i often wonder how the world functioned before mobile phones...!

I like the convenience of being able to browse the web on the go but I also just went 2 months without a phone on holiday in New Jersey and didn't really notice it was gone.
Back in London and in the working world though, my essentials are:
Google Navigation
Tfl app
Chess (for passing time on the tube)
Music
CameraI do use other apps daily but these are the only ones I would miss on my day-to-day.
For instance, I take photos with the camera and often use Facebook for Android to upload them, but if I didn't have it, I'd be happy to wait til I got home.

Yeah. Bought a HTC Legend. Lovely phone. Made me waste even more time obsessively checking emails and twitter/facebook updates. Lots of nice-to-have features. No must-haves (maps are pretty awesome, though). Got rid of it after 2 weeks, went back to this:
