disappointed by the track! clip is good tho.
- Bluejam0
nice video although the 'bloody' bits seemed pointless

Absolutely amazing - stunning concept / film. The music suits the film and works really well.
Track probably isn't so suited to a club environment - but why should it be. Shows M.I.A. as diverse, intelligent and talented.
- Beautifully shot, but I didn't get it. What's she trying to say og tell with it?Suave

arrrgh...
"this video contains content from UMG It is no longer available in your country"anyone have an alternate URL?

@Suave;
By supplanting one group for another (e.g. 'suspected terrorists', for 'gingers') we're forced to consider the way a group is treated in a more objective way. Our prejudices and impressions, born of familiarity, are potentially challenged.
I don't think it's meant to be taken literally. I think it's probably designed to make people think and consider 'what if'.
While the gore is a little over-the-top, and the vilification of Army is extreme - I think it challenges its audience in a worthwhile manner. It's not attempting to be superficial, and I think that's rare in a music video. I like it a lot.

Nice video, but!

Great video. Just showing what "the land of the free" has become and will continue to embody if society continues forward with closed eyes.
Regarding "vilification or the army" I don't think that was the point. They were not in fatigues and looked more like SWAT then army. These agents were cogs in the violent wheel of a merciless system.
- true - but the cogs had US flags on their arms.lukus_W
- .. which is quite a pointed statement. Though, in the light of wikileaks, maybe it's also a worthy one.lukus_W
- (yawn)
when was the last time any of you were loaded on a bus and executed in America?identity - I don't think that's the point identitylukus_W
- oh, i know - the video, thematically paints a pretty "seen it before picture" - however, my comments wereidentity
- directed at those saying "America and the UK are turning into totalitarian states!" which sounds like whining fromidentity
