do you post your non industry jobs , been working front desk and cooking at a bar grill , and wonder if it matters if they are on a resume since it is the last jobs i had
- if they were interesting and fun.newuser
- Better than being unemployed, but not a good qualifier.omahadesigns

@BattleAxe
You should only post relevant work experience on your resume. Out of college I had only two internships under my belt, so it looked pretty light. I instead focused on the educational aspect of my resume, gassing up the focus of my curriculum and the practicum courses I had taken. I also padded my list of skills and whatnot.
Anyway, that's not to say you can't put that stuff on your Resume. Personally I don't think it adds much value though.

Here's mine: currently on the job hunt in Amsterdam. I'm moving there soon, so if anyone has tips or a lead on a job opening in a design agency... i would be very much in gratitude if you let me or them know of each other's existence.
- Fran intern till head designer later lite suspekt. Foljt av mer intern'erande.

Serious question:
For those of you who have been in the position to review resumes and interview people, have you EVER checked their claims to the past work, companies, clients or their claims to education? And another question, if you were in charge initially to weed out candidates in an initial round, did someone higher up the food chain come in and make the final decision based on your recommendations?
- I only checked previous references once... and that when I was with a smaller company.Al_dizzle
- usually the candidates are coming in from a recruiting agency, and we let them take care of the background checking.Al_dizzle
- Same here, a lot of the people I interviewed came threw an agency or someone the company knew.sofakingback
- Although, in the interview. I grilled the hell out of people. Why they did things, how they did them, troubles they had, how they solved it, etc.sofakingback
- My hire recommendations ended up being strong additions to the team, the ones I said no to and got hired; 2 of which come to mind were the absolute worst.sofakingback
- Never checked, always let the 'folio be the deciding factor and so far, so good... apart from one girl who turned out to be shit and a total PITA.MrT

usually let recruitment agency do background stuff.
So far their recommendations were so so.
We posted for a writer a while back and had a few good hits but in the end went with one of the regular freelancers.
Being on the receiving side now, I understand how you can get overwhelmed.

Still annoying to send out many resumes and get nothing but crickets, so bad on our end as well...

resume thread bump,
I'm reading about this applicant tracking systems (ATS) that companies large and small are using to screen resumes. I like to keep my resume up-to-date just in case and i think now is a good time to really figure out what these screening robots are really looking at.
Do you think it is just your basic keywords, or is there some other formula to keep on the upper end of these systems? I found a couple places to help, but anyone figure out information to crack the code on a proper resume with ATS friendly formatting?
tl:dr,
Is there any formula or proper template to create an ATS compatible resume?Muchos Gracias homies.
