Somehow this thread escaped me all this time. E-Pill - I never realized we were so gay for the same things!
I've got a pair of Nudie Slim Jim Dry Japan and love them. Got them cheap from my-wardrobe.com - $90 plus shipping from the UK last year. Tried them on in Chicago where they were $215. Fuck that!
Had mine over a year and they just go in the freezer from time to time. I'd love to finally wash them to shrink them some, but I love how dark they still are and they're my only pair like that.
Want to give Levis a try though. A bit cheaper than Nudie and some good slimmer fits.
- finally someone who realizes it is not the price you pay but to keep the quality..e-pill
- the denim can be any price.. but the treatment you do will determine the finish..e-pill
- the price of cotton in the last few months have skyrocketed.. so expect even higher prices..e-pill
- ..around january of 2011.e-pill
- @mg33- if you are going to get Levi's i recommend you find a shop that sells the japan madee-pill
- i used to work for Levi's for 5 years, and the Japan office is totally separate and better..e-pill
- their denim quality outshines all of the american brands without a thought..e-pill
- in the end it is up to you.. i suggest you try them on and figure out your medium..e-pill
- their prices can go for $99-thousands of dollars..e-pill
- in the end it is how you take care of your garments.. there is a ton of ignorance here..e-pill
- and i love that "creatives" in design can still be ignorant..e-pill
- im happy we re both gay for the same thing.. yay!!e-pill
- also try to find a brand that fits you, not something that is tailored to the masses..e-pill
- it might be levi's or it might be something you never heard of as there is endless vendors..e-pill
- denim is made to last.. indigo denim is made to last longer.. take care of it right and its dopee-pill
- it can have all the whiskers and breakdown that is you and you alone ..not some knock off.e-pill
- e-pill, you are the king of note comments. Seriously!duckofrubber

some advice from A.P.C.
A.P.C. offers the following “denim washing recipes” in order to get the most character out of your denim:
Extremist Recipe - Let your jeans get dirty for as long as possible. First wash: dry clean. Following Washes: soak your jeans for about an hour in water with Woolite Black added, rinse, roll in a terrycloth towel and hang up to dry.
Semi-Extremist Recipe – Soak your jeans for about an hour in water with Woolite Black added, don’t scrub, rinse, wring and hang up to let the water drain.
Machine Recipe - Machine wash at 30 degrees Celsius (90 degrees Fahrenheit), delicate cycle, no spin cycle, with Woolite Black.
Seawater Recipe - Let your jeans get dirty for as long as possible, go swimming in the ocean wearing your jeans, rub your jeans with dry sand, and repeat several times. Rinse in fresh (not salt) water and let dry in the sun.

Also this is interesting:
If you took good care of your A.P.C. Jeans, you can bring your worn out dirty pair back into the shop and get a new pair for half price.

I just bought some Cheap Monday raw jeans today that are so tight, the pockets are useless, and cut so low my coworkers will see my ass crack if I don't have a t-shirt tucked in. WIN.

So i was packing yesterday for a work trip and noticed the sweater i wanted to take hadn't been washed, smelled kinda funky, and was dry clean only... So after browsing this thread, the light bulb went off, I took my sweater put it in a plastic bag, dropped it in the freezer... and left it over night... this morning I took it out, gave it a big whiff and realized something really important.... All you raw jean wearing mo-fo's are definitely walking around town smelling like big sweaty balls!
- lol, had to share.. after that I hung it in the sun for a couple of hours, worked betterThelonious_Funk

Dark denim is best washed with fabric conditioner only.

Put them in the freezer as often as possible. Inside a water tight bag. This'll will slow any bacteria multiplying. And it's so a awesome putting on frozen jeans.

Not be through everyone's reply. But I'd try to hold off for as long as possible. I find the freezer ting works a little bit, but if they must be washed, stick to this guide - http://www.acontinuouslean.com/2…
