Rewatched The Favourite recently. Its almost like Yorgos did his riff on a Shakespeare comedy. Worth a rewatch!
- Been REALLY into his stuff lately – took me a while but I get it now. A cross between Tim Walker and Stanley Kubrick!DaveO
- +1 I loved this. Really enjoyed The Lobster and Killing of a Sacred Deer and Poor Things is incredible.Morning_star
- The Lobster drifted off a bit in the second half, but the black comedy was all there. He's a great directorIanbolton
- Kinds of Kindness also great!DaveO
- I loved this on the first watch, but it didn't land on the second a few years later.i_monk

Really enjoyed the first half of this. Got disturbed to deal with a bunch of 'stuff' half way through watching and I'm not sure if the second half of the film is a let down or else it was just me and the interruption. Anyway...
- watched this last night. Made me think I'd rather watch a film like this over the predictable shit from Hollywood. It wasn't perfect but i loved the premiseIanbolton
- What did that ending mean though? She still couldn't escape her material belongs? I loved how unlikeable she was.Ianbolton
- Are you folks seeing much at BIFF? Keep us posted please if so!MrT

- one of my favourites, what a film, what a cast. Tarantino's best script. Plus Alabama!_niko
- Rewatched this recently. Everyone was so good - esp Gary Oldman.jbasnight
- I remember loving it but can't remember a thing about the story. My head gets it mixed up with pulp fiction and natural born killers Needs a rewatch fo sho.HAYZ1LLLA

Every year I'll throw this on with a bottle of wine and some cheese and think about days when it was a little bit more straightforward.
- Is sideways a wine film with a little golf, or really a golf film with a little wine?DaveO
- Lot of wine from what I remember, really loved that film at the time.PhanLo
- Its a very cosy watch on a friday night woth a bottle of pinot!DaveO
- Good laughs, watched recently. It gets pretty off the wall near the end, for a movie about two guys going on a golf/winery trip********

Warfare
Is this the best war film ever made? Maybe.
Saw this in IMAX yesterday. It's stunning, intimate, monotonous, moving, disorientating, bleak, exciting, funny and downright terrifying. The sound design is notably brilliant. We left the theatre in silence, quite literally shell shocked.
For a film that's essentially shot in two rooms it's breathtaking.
Don't expect nice arching narratives, glorious 'Deakins' vistas or personal journeys and heroism. Alex Garland and his co director have made something unique and engaging. It won't be for everyone. It's not an enjoyable 90minutes but it is effecting, insightful and pretty fucking brilliant.- Was a good movie, definitely not the best war film, quite different though.PhanLo
- Was it better than Full Metal Jacket or the Thin Red Line?Ianbolton
- It's quite different in the setting and mood. Just shows the carnage and horror of a failed operation and the dull reality of it all.
Well worth a watch.PhanLo - ^ cheers, I'll defo watch itIanbolton

- if you've not seen it you are in for such a harrowing rideGardener
- Watched this last year and was thoroughly disturbed. The cold, mundane, matter of fact-ness of Raymonde is chilling. Damn good film +1Morning_star
- I was lost in this film for days after watching it last year.Ianbolton
- Good oneGabriel
