Anyone have any success with a particular vacuum on hardwood floors? I'm looking for something with a good ability to suck up cat hair. I'm sick of sweeping it.
I can't afford Jenna Jameson so I need something that sucks like a pro and possibly has a hose attachment.

I have two cats and they shed more hair than seems physically possible... Dyson DC24 (aka "the Ball") works for me.
- But that shit's so expensive. I'm also in the market for a new vaccum, but I can't justify a $400 purchase.monospaced

In my experience, cheap vacuum cleaners never really work all that well and break faster. I went through the equivalent of $400 worth of vacuums before I bought the Dyson and on a $/year basis it's totally worth it... not to mention it actually is better because it's an expensive piece vs a cheap one.

You may want to consider a unit that filters through water with all of the animals in the house, such as the Rainbow.
http://www.rainbowsystem.com/rai…Now I'm sure there are other water-filtered systems available, i'm just not familiar with them.
Why do you want this? Well, for one, filtering through water essentially eliminates all of the dust/dander/hair/whatever from getting clogged up in a filter and potentially shot right back out of the vacuum. Also, you don't ever need to worry about changing filters, buying filters, etc. The only downside is you have to empty the water out of the base after every use.. and they're a little pricey. And a vacuum like this is amazing for people with allergies.

dysons are ok, they're not all that though. there's a reason why every hotel you've been to uses a miele.

I highly recommend getting one with bags... the bagless ones are messy and super lame to empty.
- running out of bags and trying to find or remember what size you have is lame.fooler2
- As is getting the crap you just vaccumed up all on your hands, floor and back up into the air.BK
- yeah we have a dog and that transparent cylinder gets pretty nasty and fills up with one sweep of the house.fooler2
- 1. place canister fully inside garbage chute. 2. press release button and shake. 3. close lid. done and no mess.zarkonite
- 1. Remove bag and throw out
2. Take $400 you saved on fancy bagless vac and hire housekeeper.BK - what sort of fucking rainman idiot can't empty a bagless vacuum? it aint hard.airey

- there is something satisfying about seeing all the crap you can suck up at once. Bags always overfill and are a mess too.fooler2

I almost got the Dyson but when I got to the store I pussed out. I just can't spend $500 on a product when it's sitting next to a $125 one that does the exact same thing, minus the gadgety ball.
