i'm crazy underwhelmed by buying a PS4.
the graphics are marginally better (like 10-15%) but the games are the same.
i can't play any of my sizeable PS3 collection so now i have only a handful to choose from.
it feels weird to not have a start button but am looking forward to the day the trackpad makes up for it
- yeah next gen consoles are a huge disappointment :-(mekk
- Next wave of games should push your % up a bit. There aren't many essential purchases yet either. Arkham Knight, Far Cry 4, Rapture - kind of working for me!MrT
- Right now I'm catching up on ps4 assassins creed titles, the last of us and this thing called warframescarabin
- last of us is a remaster of a PS3 game, warframe a free to play gameernexbcn
- shoulda bought an xbox. its overloaded with awesome exclusives right now.CygnusZero4
- lmaoernexbcn
- PC, brothers! PC!mekk
- Warframe was fun for a bit. What's up scarabin, not an mgsV fan********
- i agree with scarabin .. been very disappointed with destiny, witcher, gtav is just same thing as its ever been.. batman was meh.. mgsV is red dead redemption.e-pill
- find herbs, ride a horse.. oi .. revolver ocelot i do like.. but oi.. too much to do lost the vibe of the game.. meh..e-pill
- yea, from what iv'e seen it is a whole different animal from the old ones. apparently kojima had a falling out with konami so there never will be another actual********
- addition to the franchise********
- i'm all hot for MGSV but haven't bought it yet. red dead is actually one of my fave games so any similarities are just an odd bonusscarabin
- fair enough, i haven't picked it up yet either********
- There will be further MGS gasmes, just not developed by Kojima. We'll get another car crash like Twin Snakes.face_melter
- yea, right********

I have been to the EGX gaming fair in Birmingham today
with my lad, it was 6 hours of intense game play but good fun
and of course I took some pics
ridiculous queues even first thing this morning
playing games you never knew existed
plenty of merch
my lad meets his heroes
I met mine!
soldiers willing to die
VR game heaven- haha, awesome - if you don't mind me saying, you look a bit like a cooler, less annoying Brent Spiner :)detritus
- Damnit, I needs kids as an excuse to go to this sort of thing :.)detritus
- there were a LOT of women there,
if I am ever single again...Gardener - have you been playing cuphead?mekk

Anyone for a classic Tomb Raider treasure iPhone tone?

Realised I haven't actually "gamed" for years. Not since Last of Us. Had a spin at GTAV which was amazing... but that was it really...
I'm with scara. Nothing is really jumping out these days. Maybe I'm getting older and got other shit to do.... I dunno. Graphics are just the same but hi-res at 60fps... Gameplay is the same shit everywhere. Everything seems to be for teenagers or bro's.
Feel like games need another kick in the ass, like the Wii did years back. Something new and different. Maybe VR is it. Maybe.
- Its the focus and audience of consoles, really. Sales drives together with mtn dew & doritos, Fifa and Need for Speed shit everywhere, just lookmekk
- at the ridiculous BF:hardline campaign and EAs Facebook sites.
..but then have a look at the Steam and Gog.com libraries on PC, you will find a much moremekk - mature audience and deeper games here, like Star Citizen, or Anno or real tacical shooters.mekk

I was also at EGX in Birmingham as part of the Prison Architect stand (I've done graphic design for them). Their stand was designed as a prison complex with canteen, cells, mughsots and a electric chair. Very much meant as a photo opportunity.
The electric chair
People waiting to sit in the electric chair
Two of the cells
People getting their mugshots taken
Some of all the photos taken at the event (customers also got a copy)
Headbands given away at the show
Headbands made their way to the youtube live streaming stage :)
Artbooks given away after the Introversion Prison Architect talk
Artbooks I've made, we gave these away after the Introversion developer talk

Rampage Jackson of all people was streaming on Twitch last night for a few hours. Pretty random but funny, he was playing some zombie killing game.

fucking PS4 won't even let me set my own background, opting instead to fill my screen with ads. even when the menu is on a game i own, it shows two ads for related DLC.
that background really tied the room together, man.
shit is organized stupid, i have to scroll through a couple screens of random icons just to find the disk game i loaded.
i'm starting to really hate this thing, up til now i was a sony fanboy.
i gave the thing over a year to get its shit together :/

- sell, buy pc.mekk
- there are plenty of themes on the store for free, each game tab displays other stuff related to the games including DLCernexbcn
- people are asking for folders to arrange the games on their own, the list is ordered by recently played, it works ok for meernexbcn
- get an xbox one. its pretty awesome, and has far better exclusives going on. you would be happy trust me.CygnusZero4
- his issues won't be remedied replacing a PS4 with an Xboxernexbcn
- perhaps play more games and stop worrying about your (probably black) wallpaperfadein11
- well he's complaining about things that arent an issue on the x1.CygnusZero4
- i'm just making noise. it's growing on me. still wish i had BG control thoughscarabin

- Skate was the only good skateboarding game. These are shit.section_014
- Skate was great, but THPS 1 & 2 were super fun. Mainly because of grinding and combos.DRIFTMONKEY
- i kind of want this game now b/c of the glitches.OP31

This could be interesting....
"In videogames, death is rarely fatal. If you take a shotgun blast to the noggin, a simple restart gets you back in the action. That’s what makes the twist behind the upcoming PC game Upsilon Circuit so scary: If you die in this world, you’re done. Nope, can’t even start over. You can never play again."
- sounds familiarfadein11
- So an indie multiplayer game with "extreme permadeath". Playerbase should be gone within a month at most.Nutter

strange that all i could think of was trying to find other human life but the chances, it seems, are astronomical (if you'll forgive the pun).SteveJobs - this is amazingKnuckleberry
- Really good presentation to people who normally don't play games.Nutter

Not trying to be a dick here, but what's so exciting about 'No Mans Sky'? The graphics look pretty good, but not astounding. The game play looks pretty standard, like a shooter that's similar to 100 games before it. So, what's the excitement about?
- nobody knows really, mostly that it's a huge universe? I still don't understand the actual "game play" part of itmonospaced
- Supposedly there's unlimited worlds, but how different are they going to be from eachother? And who has time for that?dopepope
- But I guess it's pretty cool. If it's fun, I'm in. I'll beat 3 worlds and I'll shelf it. : )dopepope
- I'm not seeing the appeal myself, I see the appeal from an artistic perspective but I'm not seeing the gameplay being much funernexbcn
- You just explore planets, name stuff and gather resources, I hope there's more than just that otherwise it will be just an "experience" kind of gameernexbcn
- Any procedural generation gets old quickMilan
- mono doesn't understand a lot of things, to be fair.doesnotexist
- I understand perfectly fine you cunt. Just don't know about the game holy shit you are on a trolling rampage today.monospaced
- I share your concerns, ernex.
I'm just gonna go ahead and assume it's total shit, then buy it and enjoy whatever the fuck it has to offer.
It WILL be shit thodetritus - The combo of scale, amount of procedural stuff mashing together, naming your discoveries - is still intriguing me. And I'm a cynical twat!MrT
