Recently taken off a logo project I had developed up until the final round, now that a developed idea has been decided upon by our client the CD has pulled me from the project to complete - tweek - it himself. Fuck him, i want revenge, help me plot.

I had this, did a logo for a good project, did all the research for promotional material and website etc
only for me to be taken off it and watch someone else ruin it :(

it happens....
your revenge will be the next good job you have elsewhere, where this doesn't happen.... and this company will go downhill if this CD does this all the time.... so start looking around.... and do some good side-projects if the CD has a pattern of doing this, and keep a "before CD" and "after CD" folio....

if he just tweaks it slightly, put it in your folio anyway. If anyone asks if it's all yours, say "no-someone else made tweaks"
ba da bing
- if they fuck it up put your original in your folioflashbender

He wants the credit, he wants the kudos. Ask him to give you a good reason why you are not able to push your own design across the finishing line.
He may reply, quite sharply, that it is because you are, frankly, shit, and you do sloppy work, and as the Creative Director it falls upon him to make sure the job gets finished off properly, because the reputation of the company rests on the quality of the work that makes it out into the big wide world, and you just haven't got an aptitude for a tidy finish, and god knows he's had to jostle and cajole you all the way along on this job already, because your own ideas were pretty shit and you were just not doing a very good by yourself.
But don't listen to that. He's just fucking with you.

i've asked..its more the morals of it to me. a project i've spent weeks on is just roped out from under me for no apparent reason. so i ask politely and get the answer, "no no worries we needed to have it finalized by noon today, thanks." maybe next time ill throw a tantrum on his fridge.

I've thought about this. Chill, nobody will deny that you were the original designer. You brought it this far.

Maybe take a different tact on this. Ask if you can participate on the project still in a different capacity. Maybe just to communicate with him about the next set of changes he's proposing. Be political in your choice of words. He's obviously taking credit for the project. You can't stop that. But you can possibly still remain as a voice in it's direction.
You need to stand up for your work at the end of the day. He or any other CD will never respect you unless you take a firm stand on the designs you provide. If you think his modifications are shit, ask why the client chose to go that route. Question his designing as he questions yours.

ill post the work once legally allowed, both before and after...you guys rock

There is a chance this isn't about you and the CD at all....
The CD may have found out at the last minute that the client totally hates the color green, or something random like that, and the CD has to rebuild it all in order to save the business, maybe he can't communicate to you the clients random freakout because he doesn't want to make you cynical...... not fun, but this also happens.... in part due to account staff not warning creatives about client personality quirks....
