I suppose I would admire a designer if she were pretty. But if she wanted to talk about design I'd be like "Uggh, I sooo don't want to talk about work. How about we talk about what drink we'll have after our first round?" Then my wife would walk up and be like "Hi. Who is this?" And I'd be like "Oh hey baby. What a wonderful surprise. Who is this? This is Rudy... She's a designer too."

I know some folks say he's overrated, but Stefan Sagmeister is a brilliant designer, savvy businessman, and a genuinely nice guy—not just to clients and vendors (like some designers I've known) but to everyone he meets.
- Now about that website...gramme

Doyald Young: I can't think of another human being who's more gifted at crafting logos, and logotypes in particular. I also admire the fact that he's in his 80s and still going strong between commissioned work and teaching at Art Center.
Marian Bantjes: She did the design firm thing for many years, and had some success. Then, after some setbacks she totally reinvented herself—during a time when most people would be having mid-life crises. She's one of those people who's as conceptually gifted as she is with various techniques—whether it's using paint or grains of sugar. She's also a good writer and a charismatic speaker.
- And if you buy one of his fonts he replies for what is going to used for and where i'm from...nice guy, didn't know he was in his 80ies...Kiggen

- He's the epitome of what I love about design. It's a shame there aren't more modern cats like him.HeartOfGold

Because he swears more in the workplace than any person I've ever met. He also has no problem punching a monitor form time to time.
