- i think its sad that a PC user can say their best OS is something thats been around before George W took office.iCanHazQBN

Should be getting my copy delivered tomorrow morning - I'm only upgrading for DirectX10/11, as it appears from a number of lab tests that W7 doesn't manage multi-cores massively better than XP did. Ho hum.
I hope, at least, it makes more use of the oodles of RAM I put in my new machine, otherwise I really have wasted a lot of time, money and effort, ha ha.
Still, at least it's not Vista...

I really like 7, I still use XP on my home machine but as soon as i pass the mandatory year of letting others test it for me, i'll buy it

Windows Vista came out with key major features cut out (including a new file system), failed miserably and now it's been corrected with Windows 7.
Though all those features promised for Vista are still missing.

I think I'll buy it. Although not sure I'll upgrade the laptop - since it's cramped up with OEM software - and Vista has never given me any troubles, apart from painfully slow installs (which I hardly ever do anyway).
- Still to find out what are people to expect when installing 6-month old peripherals though.Corvo2
- PC friends tell me it's Vista was supposed to be, all nags fixed and runs betterernexbcn
- Yes - easier on the machine is reason enough to upgrade. Vista is rather bulky. Still, better organised than XP.Corvo2

- this is bad PR for Jerry Harvey who looks like a scroatem in this picture, for Windows 7 because of the douchebag buying it, and the black guy who looks like he's on crack...Invalid
- wouldn't expect anything less from the pc worldlambsy

I've been on it since the first beta release. It's been reliable and smooth since then. I just hate that they made Windows Explorer even crappier and it won't display remaining disc space in the status bar, because "it causes anxiety issues in some users".

I am not a windows users, but on CNN today they said Windows 7 "comes less annoying advertising messages, which is good"
What does that mean? what's the annoying advertising messages?
Just curious.
