Apple or not, I fail to see the benefit of a wireless mouse in desk environment. What the hell do you do when the batteries go?
- same as, you driving the car and run out of gas. what do you do? call a cab?!akrokdesign
- Not the same at all. There was nothing wrong with the wire.moth
- oh well, point taken.akrokdesign

I work in a lot of 3d apps and a 3rd mouse button is a complete necessity. I haven't heard any talk of a 3rd button on this thing....
- that's cus there isn't one, if Apple had its way it would only have 1..Strike84
- Not true, Strike. Bitter little...monospaced

and it needs two buttons.
Denying the need for two buttons is like denying the holocaust and everyone at Apple should be shot.- it has two buttons, just no visually.akrokdesign
- just not. (forgot the "t" there)akrokdesign
- you are doing it wrongMeeklo

- ugly black plastic. why two colours? why black? why the ill placed microsoft logo.felizfeliz
- if it were white and plastic people would love it like the above. It's really comfy, hence those materials.jfletcher
- needs more pieces and lines running across it. looks like a oblong cycling helmet for the elephant man.sigg

I think it's pretty incredible. When you think of the evolution of the computer mouse it's come pretty far. Imagine if 10 years ago this mouse had been available. Or 20 years ago.
Perhaps, with so many recent and rapid advances in technology we've become blasé to it all. Taking it for granted.
Let's not forget that 95% of the worlds population has never flown on an aeroplane before.
We, the wealthy, technology literate elite are getting too big for our boots...

That thing looks way too small to be comfortable while doing those multi-touch movements. I just conducted a ten minute test doing finger swipes and shit on my current mouse (which is only slightly larger than this Magic Mouse, but enough to make the difference), and my finger joints hurt from it.
I'm sure Ive and his team did plenty of testing for the usability, but it blows my mind that these designers (of all people) would rather have something that looks cool but is flawed for the masses, than to have something that is functional and ergonomically-aware. I find it very hard to believe this nested functions of this mouse are considered ergonomic within such a confined surface area.
Looking forward to my Apple fanboy friend buying one so that I can try it out for myself—I could be wrong.

What I've found interesting it how we're (US, where I am) "ahead" in some tech places, and behind in others.
I was just in India and China and they use all palm pilot style devices in restaurants. Fast, efficient, not wasteful. We use paper still.
It's interesting how in some areas we're still behind the times... but yes, agree feliz, we've become a bit jaded to it

I wish it had a cord option. I hate having to replace batteries or worry about the environment when I flush them down the toilet or feed them to baby seals.
