Anyone in Washington/Seattle get their shred on? Thinking of hitting up Snoqualmie tomorrow. Worth going to?

I'm so excited - hopefully going on Saturday in Wisconsin. It's not a huge place but it's something. I've really not been snowboarding in a proper place since 2000, the last time I was in Breckenridge, where we rode every January during college. Only been to some really small places in Wisconsin so my girlfriend could try and learn how to do it.
But just found out about a bus service to a couple "mountains" in Wisconsin, and it's like a whole new door was opened for me. I'm pumped - they do trips usually every Saturday - 3 hour bus ride there and back, drinks on the bus, and lift ticket for $89.
The main thing I'm excited about is, this place has a decent park, and I've never really had the time to work on those skills before. College trips were with more skiers and we were just all over Breck. Took my board in for a tune-up last night - I bought it in 98 and it's still in great shape, but I'm totally considering buying a new one after talking to a guy in the shop. Boards are so much lighter and better now. Got a new jacket coming in the mail tomorrow as well!

Curious about anyone who is riding the Burton V-Rockers this season. Anyone have one?
I went yesterday and had a blast, still riding an old board, boots, and bindings from 1998. They still work great, just realizing the technology is so much better these days.
Our boarding trip ended with an afterparty at the Chicago Burton store so had plenty of time to talk about gear and such. I'm lusting after something new... will probably get new boots soon, and wait for a board and bindings until the offseason.

Going to try on boots in person but thinking about the Hails after a few people I was riding with last week suggested more of a freestyle boot for more comfort. These seem to get really great reviews. After half the day last Saturday my left foot was numb; totally outgrown what I had.
What else is a tax refund for but to spontaneously spend on stuff like this? I just really thought about it and realized my 13 year old beginners board was woefully behind the times. It served me well for 4 years in a row to Breck for a trip every January, but definitely time to upgrade. Should get the new stuff by next Saturday, then taking another Saturday trip back up to Wisconsin.
- boots can take 5 even 10 rides to break in. numb feet in new boots is pretty normal.inkpink
- my feet were numb in the old boots, the ones I got in 1997mg33
- oh ha. nm then :)inkpink
- Are the liners heat moldable ? Maybe go to your local shop and get fittedMSTRPLN
- yeah, they're heat moldable. I did not buy them yet, trying and buying in person.mg33

BTW - any of you in the midwest should check out this place called Mt. Bohemia, on the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Never knew about it until Saturday, but it sounds unbelievable.

Pretty much called the best skiing/snowboarding east of the Rockies - it's all backcountry pretty much, 2 lifts, 900 feet vertical and tons of trees, small cliffs, etc.
The company that runs the bus trip I took last weekend is looking into a 3-4 day trip up there next year. I can't wait.
- That place looks rad! Love those sleeper resorts.nocomply

I played hooky and went up Mt Hood Meadows Oregon yesterday.
It was only my 2nd time this season, 1st time this year. El Nino hasn't made it a good year at all.
It was the first day I could use my spring pass, hopefully I will be going up more and we usually get a few more storms to bring us more snow.
