I wouldn't label it as health food no, not at all, but when I compare it to other american fast food, it [appears, tastes, looks] much healthier. Just compare it to a Whopper or a Big Mac.
Compared to a chicken breast, boiled yams, and a spinach salad, it's not specifically healthy, but compared to TGI Fridays, I'll take Chipotle anyday. When I can't make my own dinner, I think it's a fine substitute.

Sad excuse for a burrito.

jees, people - chill out, how bad can it be ?
I like going to Qdoba - I can see them take a tortilla, the same brand as I could buy in the supermarket next door, add some pinto and black beans (the same as I could buy there too), add some onion, cheese, guacamole, wrap it up and give it to me.. It's just shit you have in your cupboard anyway, how can it claim to be authentic anything, or how can anyone claim it's fake anything ?
It's just different food ingredients stuck together in front of you for slightly more than it would cost you to do it at home, ie not much.
If you want something 'authentic' go to a little non-chain place where you might be lucky enough to get a mexican guy cook genuinely foreign ingredients in a way you are not familiar with... if you don't want that, go somewhere else, jeez.

The link for the top 10 worst foods seems lame to me. A mocha from starbucks has a lot of calories.... yep, did we not know that? Smoothie King has a 1100 calorie smoothie... but they don't mention some people (like me) need a lot of calories when they are working out. 1100 smoothie would be good for me as long as it's not 50grams of saturated fat... which it could be, I don't know the ingredients.
That list seems arbitrary at best for the "worst foods". Compared to a lot of things, many of those choices seem top notch :P
I think it's more, eat whats right for you. If chipotle is going to make you fat, have half a burrito. Sodium is a little over the top, so balance it with what else you eat. Not sure why you hate it so much.

- seems lame to you, but it was developed by a respectable organization: http://www.cspinet.o…Meeklo

- I accept those may not be great, but the list seems arbitrary.jfletcher

I'd go with Qdoba, Baja Fresh, or Moe's over Chipotle.

Dude, Panda Express is the best real chinese food I've ever had... and Chipotle is the best real mexican food.... and Olive Garden the best itlian! Dominos is also very italian pizza!
... really, I think most people on this board realize Chipotle isn't mexican food. It's american food with a mexican title. People sure get fired up about this specific restaurant for some reason... or PF Chang. People love to hate PF Changs.

breaking down that chipotle commercial
But the image in the commercial, that all the pigs are hanging out in a pasture, might not be accurate. Pigs at Niman Ranch aren't required to have outdoor access. They can be housed in hoop buildings with sunlight, instead. "Growing and finishing hogs"—the kind that you eat—are only required to have 8 to 18 square feet of space each, depending on weight, if they are housed in a structure that permits outdoor access. In cases where pigs are housed in hoop buildings, they only get 5 to 14 square feet.

Shit, if you guys are in mid-town... you should get Dos Toros (On 4th Ave, just south of Union Square). They are on fire with the great reviews.
