Why doesn't he offer to match the salary offered to the Indian company?

Well, its a highly debateble topic....
But eventually global labor rates will balance out one day, and companies has nowhere to go too make more profits. In the current situation you have to adapte, get some sort of edge too make yourself indespenable to the company!

life isn't fair. no one is looking out for you. you can get fucked at any time by anything or anyone. economics is brutal. it is life.
- So why do we any society or culture, or even democracy ?
We are better than the brutes, the animals, but they are allowed to win again & againmikotondria3 - winning again and again, and we are letting them. Go ahead, 'its the law of the jungle' we say, as they gut us.mikotondria3

My two cents... outsourcing costs more in the long run. I don't do it. 90% of the time the product delivered is crap and it needs to be fixed locally anyway. You get what you pay for.
I support my local economy. I am proud to and let clients know that. For an example of a large company being hurt by their outsourcing... look at Dell. They were well known for good customer service, something important when you sell mainly over the phone/online. Then they outsourced. The customer service went to crap -- they now have a horrible reputation for service and it has been costing them. Sure its not the only factor, but it is a big one in their weakening market share.

if a company makes a product in it's local country. and sells it to it local population. and employs it's local population. then the local population earn and can then afford the companies product.
if you out source to a cheaper country, but still sell the product at same price as before in your local market to your unemployed population - well, they can't afford it.
and the outsource employes who don't get paid much. well they can't afford your product.
so your business fails!

My brother's team is still in shock, hearing they come on the 10th of August to start training and they are all done by end of November.
Thanks for your views on this.
– alice –- I sincerely hope they get picked up by a competitor and keep working. It's unacceptable to waste talent like that.zarkonite
- I hope so.
thanks
