I played a game the other night and everyone was moving at double/triple speed. It was on the Rundown map, and you could run up the steps from the sunken canal and jump over the high walls. It made killing people a pain in the arse, especially with the knife in close combat.

yeah dude... the map package seems to have worked too well. xBox live server communication is scrambled all morning. BUT good news is there are two new game modes Hcore and reg in which you play ONLY THE NEW MAPS. fun stuff.

My favorite time talking to people on MW2 was when I pretended to be a cowboy from west Texas that was in Chicago "teaching city-folk how to make proper barbecue." There were some kids that were teenagers that were totally fascinated with the stuff I was telling them. They were amazed that I would go out riding a horse with just a canteen , a rifle, and a poncho for several days, just exploring canyons and creeks and catching my dinner. I mean, you'd think they never had even seen a person ride a horse.
Kept asking me what I thought of the city and I said something like "It's a good place to see now and again pardner, but the range is where I belong. Teaching these city boys how to make a good dry rub keeps me paid, and I gotta go to them. I can handle their world, they'd never take a liking to mine."
For like an hour this went on. It was awesome. No name calling, no trash talking, just 4-5 kids in awe that a cowboy was playing videogames. Told them that the hotel had an xbox and I just thought I'd see if I could figure the game out. Ha!

Update 3: Microsoft's official support page is reporting that the map packs still aren't working and lists a slew of other things that Xbox Live users can't currently do:
Creating new Xbox LIVE accounts, managing those accounts, or recovering an account on a different console
Buying downloadable items from the Xbox 360 console, Xbox.com, or Games for Windows – LIVE
Paying for downloadable items with a credit card
Signing into Games for Windows – LIVE on a PC
Redeeming downloadable items with Microsoft Points, buying additional Microsoft Points, or viewing your points balance
Using prepaid cards or codes for downloadable items or Xbox LIVE subscriptions
Purchase transactions using the Games for Windows LIVE client.
