I'll be leaving for 5 days with 2 friends to a road trip in Mexico. We will be visiting, San Luis Potosi, Xilitla, Guanajuato, San Miguel De Allende, Guadalajara and Sayulita beach. Wish us luck, we will try to avoid hot spots where trafficking wars are going on.
Some one here have a great idea, I will document the trip and post photos, hope it goes well.
Cheers.

I was in San Luis Potosi a few months ago and loved it... although I knew several people so that helped a lot.

oh, and I shouldn't have to tell you, but only botteled water, no ice.

We know people in most of the places we are visiting. We are suppose to hook up with some girls that are friends with one of guys going on this trip. Lets see how that turns out.

I don't know most of the name of places I went. I remember a club called "Play", which was next to my hotel. Then there were a few town square style areas within a few blocks of there people gather. Also some nice churches in the area.
I was in Puebla a few weeks ago, which was cool. People tell me I need to go to Zacatecas. Maybe next year.

Well... the problem with drug trafficking is mostly going on near the border... you should be just fine.
As to the water... sure it's got tons of chlorine and sometimes it's too strong for foreigners... not so much for locals. ice is fine. It comes from the source as purified water... even in bad restaurants... do avoid ice on the street. that one is just dirty mostly because of how it's handled.
good luck
- Mexico city, and Culiacan are where the biggest cartels live, but they dont fuck with gringos, just dont dress like a cop or rivalmoldero

Try not to catch the Pig Flu!

Friends en San Luis Potosi are being placed in quarantine everything is closed.

It is not a good time to be going down there. Even though the wars are mainly at the border, it has been advised to stay out of Mexico completely. Their influence is throughout.
Not to mention the pig sick.

Guanajuato is rad,
dont believe all the crap you've been hearing on the drug war lately, ive been living in Culiacan (the heart of it) for almost 2 years now, its calmed down a lot in the last year, makes me wonder why they've been only pushing this out in the US media lately, maybe their just slow.
