designers are problem solvers. unfortunately the 'cool' thing makes a lot of the work more difficult than it needs to be because clients often expect magic to happen when design gets done. they expect some warm feeling to come over them, tingling or something, when they get something designed for them......

never considered working with computers as cool, but compared to a lot of my friends jobs i'd say the lifestyle of designing for a living, particularly when freelance, is pretty cool.

designing web sites or laying out leaflets isn't cool... being a vet, or a doctor, or a rock star or a footballer is probably cool

I like being a designer. I usually feel like I'm apart of a small club... and then I tell someone what I do and they reply with, "That's cool. So, I'm having this problem with my email..."
