Better than that Adult Contemporary tripe Cornell knocks out on any other solo effort. Apparently he is just not a solid songwriter on his own.
*Okay, not exactly 'better', but at least he's not afraid to venture down a different road now and again.
- i like his first solo album. actually i like both, but i see exactly where you're coming from7point34
- I recall a song about a kitten...blaw
- A quick Amazon search comes up empty. I'm not sure what I was thinking of.blaw
- not sure about a kitten song haha7point34

I guess both are very much respected in their own genres...I just like rock as being rock...and I like to keep it that way...and Cornell is probably oneof the greatest rock voices now...

Timbaland ?? After Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog and Audioslave! WTF!?

To each his own. I don't find it all that shocking, nor is the album terrible either.

I don't mind either Cornell or Timbaland.
- flashbender0
man, timbaland used to be so cool, I can't believe he's stooped so low.

The single i heard was fairly good. Yeah, it's not soundgarden or TOTD or audioslave, but FFS don't you think he gets bored of the same style after a while? In addition to being something that, yes, is looking to be more widely accepted commercially, i think he genuinely wanted to do something different. i don't think for a minute that he was gritting his teeth and baring it to get through the process of making this album.
After all is said and done, this may be the sherbet to cleanse his creative palette to do more and better things in the style that you guys are used to.- I love it when people think they understand celebrity motivation.DrBombay
- It's all conjecture, FFS. How is this any less valid than someone saying he did it for the money?locustsloth
- well he didn't do it for free.DrBombay
