End of the day benfal, the decision is a personal one.
Before getting my GX100 i was looking at the G9, Sigma, D-Lux etc etc
I spent hours pixel-peeping on flickr to see what cameras gave what quality images etc.You could spend weeks, months considering a new camera by looking at specs online.
Come up with a shortlist then go to your local camera store and feel these different cameras in your hand, see what fits in pockets etc.The gx100 can easily fit in pocket as would the sigma etc id imagine.
the g9 and g10 definitely WONT fit in a pocket lol, its like a cross between an slr size and compact size.- smaller the camera - the better the chance that you'll have it on you when you need it ..********

re: underwater
"The Canon G10 features a 28mm wide angle setting, even wider than the Canon G9's 35mm lens. Even with the shortest port possible, external wide angle conversion lenses cannot be used to any advantage. No wide angle options are currently available for this housing."
"Since so much of the light is blocked by the lens port, the camera's built-in flash cannot be used to illuminate the subject."

i am still debating. LX3 is only available in silver which isn't bad, kinda reminds me of contax g2. i keep wishing ricoh gx 200 is 10meg with a better iso performance and not over-processed 12meg sensor.
d-lux 4 with a optional grip might be an ideal set up but the price is too steep.I need to stop being so obsessed about cameras...

friend of mine bought the LX3.. seems to like.. not really a photographer or anything.. i did not like how you dealt with the camera manually.. i like being able to mess with things without digging though menus.. i use a G9.. which i like.. wish it was smaller and had less noise.. it does take good pics.. i shot this with it.. which i just posted on recent work thread..
