I hate t shirts, this is niiice though: http://www.designgive.com/
Re: the design I'm meant to be talking about...
Change the top sentence to just one sentence, the 'Design force bla bla'
I still don't really know what it does or who is a naming force? People want someone to invent their business names? I have a hard enough time designing logo's for clients that they've decided the name... I hate the idea, but I assume it's not your next venture so not really relevant.
It looks like a modern day .5advanced playing on all new web trends, nice for client, good for portfolio, hated by designers, confusing to end users.
All too dark, it looks like a trendy gaming site from a distance.
Content layout all looks good to me, maybe replace top RH with an inline quote or something bigger.
All the blur fucks my eyes. Hate the photos.

Also looks like a recruiting company for a digger drivers trying to jazz up their roadworks CV?
What's the font? That looks nice, use nice typography instead of pics and line it all up nice and you should have a winner.
The front page should reflect whether you're there to create a name or buy one. A big large option and different sign in/up areas.
...again though, what the fuck do I know?
Feels like it needs some more fine lines

The bottom line is that it doesn't feel inviting for proper creatives... I think the client has the opportunity to do something less 'out of the box' here to actually engage good content/creatives...
The design/structure itself isn't that bad, but I'd lean towards a more stoic approach, less of the moment...
As for the stock images, I'd probably drop them and if you need something, pitch them on doing a relatively cheap photoshoot based on real people that would or have used the service... Just something other than typical stock imagery... Even just type would work, considering in essence it is all about text...

I think their current site is better.

duh

i don't get it.
business model, or the design.
it feels too much like a $99 logo site but without the logos.

I think you need to look at some of the other contests and similar sites so you can get a better direction.

Yes, thanks SKT.. I was actually shooting for a .35 cent logo cent site without the logos. Looks like I nailed it!

i, unlike you, was not being sarcastic.
you designed it, what about this sells the concept to prospective clients? or people wanting to get involved? why put things up for crit if you don't want to hear what people think of it? you did the same with the logo from what i remember reading.

I would not spend my money at this website. I can already imagine the kind of smarmy garbage spewing forth from the stock photo models mouths... not good.
That said, the layout seems pretty workable. I'd ditch the photos, add some more colour in there so it doesn't look like halloween
( here's a nice enticing design: http://www.campaignmonitor.com/), and show what the people are paying for... either examples or some sort of conceptual bit about great names.Lose the chevron, makes it looks like the marines (in a bad way).
- Nice site example. Reminds me a lot of mint.com.adamrobertson

I've noticed these days that a lot of sites that need some sort of membership ID and such don't ask for that at first. They sort of ease you into it, and I always thought that was pretty smart.
It seems a lot of the current concept is based on "Join the force". It is bold and to the point, but I guess ultimately, will people want to join the force? If somebody wants a name, then yes, it makes sense to need an ID, email, etc... But for naming something, I can imagine somebody browsing around, thinking of a name for something, and *then* they are asked of ID and e-mail.
Just a thought. Designwise - I like the clean, structured, orange-accent layout.

i think the image works better than the previous ones u posted.

SKT, I was just messing with you. It's for a client.. I just did the design. that's all..
- monNom0
- Is this a joke... I mean, it has to be a joke right? No one puts oppressing images on a design site?ipissexcellence

mefuzzy and monNom.. now that's a critique.. pay attention all crit posters.. not just dont likes, but offering why they dont like it or what they do like about it.
It's hard to get good criticism on here. I'd say I get 2 usable comments per 20 posts
- irrelevant0
you don't spend money on this web site.. they pay you to come up with names for companies products etc..
- WeLoveNoise0
hate to tell you this so late in the day but maybe you should play with the colour cos i think thats part of the problem due to it not looking very inviting.
same with you logo, i know it a clients decision but if they want this concept to work, they have to have a logo that will looking more friendly than heavy letterforms

You need to break the grid more than you are. People are commenting on the site feeling like a template because your grid is boring.
