more ideas.

more conceptual, start again.

^^ Good point. Keep 'em coming!

The typeface in the icon in logo 1 is just too hard to distinguish as a d. But I am not too happy with the d face in the second logo either. But I can at least tell its a d.
I think the one that working the best is column C, logo 2. But, as I said, I don't enjoy that typeface "d" in the icon. Goodluck!
- iCanHazQBN0
make the icon MUCH bigger so that it doesn't compete with the D in the word
- iCanHazQBN0
my eyes keep going back and forth between the icon D and the D in the word

try playing around with it all being horizontal instead of the cluster like you have now.

If I had to pick from this lot...
D1 looks good to me. I think center placement would look weak and boring. You for sure need more concepts, just crank out a bunch of ideas and refine them later.
- Iggyboo0
You just scratched the surface. The d alone could work but it's not there yet.
- 7point340
nothing in the logo 2 column will work. lose it.
i guess your strongest are A1 and D1, but i'm a bit confused as to the concept. i see you're going for a shield which is a bit cliché, and on top of that you've gone medieval with the font. not sure it works.
expand the concept a bit first and then look at your type selection
- medieval and shield go together.
sofakingbanned - but does medieval and data security?7point34
- medieval and shield go together.
- Iggyboo0
Yea but Medieval and security seems archaic and not that secure, because of being outdated. Just the same the last one D section bottom right is the closest. but shields for security come on that's over the top, you could do so much more with less. Focus on the type or if you are going to go with the shield add a new twist onto it make it yours. Good luck, seems like a fun account.
- Yea, I see your point. When I think medieval shield, I think solid metal, durable, designed to take a beating and protect.sofakingbanned

^^ That was my concern as well. I feel like I need to find a much more modern-looking 'face.

- As a reminder, they make data security software.MondoMorphic
- These are shapping up to look pretty good. I particularly like 1a-1b and 4a- 4b. Pretty strong conceptuallymove

C1 or D1 of the original set, 1B of the new set... and maybe 4, but the top colour is a bit dark.
- Good point about 4. There was definitely something not quite right about.MondoMorphic

1 > Looks medieval
2 > Looks medieval
3 > Remindful of Chrysler
4 > I have seen it before, but I do like it
5 > Cliche

Have you tried using the shield shape, dropping the blackletter 'd', and crafting a 'D' out of a highlight on the right hand side? Probably talking out my arse here but I'm bored and tired.
- dirtydesign0
D1
- chuparosa0
Ooooh I think 3 and 4 are very interesting. Maybe 3 can be more organic in shape. Could 4 somehow be worked into a "d" like shape? Maybe that can't work?
Also, I like your typeface choice but maybe try a different one that is not as condensed.

Thanks everybody! Great feedback, as always.
