it all seems like the same concept - where are the others? Do you show your client all these? If you can't pick the symbol for this single concept, how do you expect them to? I think the strongest are the last two, but 3 looks pharmaceutical and 4 reminds me of pantone and a few others.

A1, ihmo. Explore the initial idea graphically, instead of looking for another set of elements.

1B from the new set. Strong, simple.
Maybe try some new sans faces under it. Not sure if the 'D' from the shield and the logotype jive.
- and i actually preferred the bolder variation from rd 1baseline_shift

Original set D, but make the D more distinct: lc or uc (look at ff brokenscript, fakir, blaktur, look how they manage that) and reposition the shield. It can be almost anywhere, but not there. You can also open up the tracking a bit (a bit).

Thanks everybody! Great feedback, as always.

Ooooh I think 3 and 4 are very interesting. Maybe 3 can be more organic in shape. Could 4 somehow be worked into a "d" like shape? Maybe that can't work?
Also, I like your typeface choice but maybe try a different one that is not as condensed.

Have you tried using the shield shape, dropping the blackletter 'd', and crafting a 'D' out of a highlight on the right hand side? Probably talking out my arse here but I'm bored and tired.

C1 or D1 of the original set, 1B of the new set... and maybe 4, but the top colour is a bit dark.
- Good point about 4. There was definitely something not quite right about.MondoMorphic

- As a reminder, they make data security software.MondoMorphic
- These are shapping up to look pretty good. I particularly like 1a-1b and 4a- 4b. Pretty strong conceptuallymove

^^ That was my concern as well. I feel like I need to find a much more modern-looking 'face.

Yea but Medieval and security seems archaic and not that secure, because of being outdated. Just the same the last one D section bottom right is the closest. but shields for security come on that's over the top, you could do so much more with less. Focus on the type or if you are going to go with the shield add a new twist onto it make it yours. Good luck, seems like a fun account.
- Yea, I see your point. When I think medieval shield, I think solid metal, durable, designed to take a beating and protect.sofakingbanned

nothing in the logo 2 column will work. lose it.
i guess your strongest are A1 and D1, but i'm a bit confused as to the concept. i see you're going for a shield which is a bit cliché, and on top of that you've gone medieval with the font. not sure it works.
expand the concept a bit first and then look at your type selection
- medieval and shield go together.
sofakingbanned - but does medieval and data security?7point34
