Road-testing Safari 4 Beta right now. Enjoying it! Shares some things in common with its WebKit sibling Google Chrome.

Its fucking fast, the only thing that bothers me is the title bar font is smaller than the standard osx windows
- stewdio0
Yea, those two things immediately leaped out at me: The title font is a bit too small. But also, Safari 4 is REALLY FAST !

downloading now... sounds nice. i hope it is REALLY FAST!!!

Liking the faster loading... Coverflow isn't doing much for me though, rather annoying.
- Me too - and cover flow in the bookmarks / history is annoying. Found you can drag the window up to get rid of Cover Flow...blackfrancis
- I love it... perfect if you've lost track of something on a stockphoto site and you have 100+ pages in your history!nessdog
- Good idea - it would be handy for that.blackfrancis
- jlaw850
And if you're trying to find the tabs (like I just was) they have moved to the very top of the browser :)

this thread has legs

Really like Top Sites, the refresh button in the address window, and tabs on top.
Nice update - pages load much faster for me with this release.

- How do you get to this?inhaler97
- In Safari prefs > Advanced - check "Show Develop Menu" - then it will be in the Menu Bar.blackfrancis

Was worried Top Sites and Coverflow would make everything run slower. Not the case! Safari 4 Beta is super fast. No crashes so far. (Anyone find bugs yet?) Wondering what the difference will be from this beta to final release. Is each tab a separate thread like in Chrome?
Also, I <3 WebKit but Mozilla needs to stay on par. (Could be a real concern if Google pushes Chrome further.) A WebKit / Mozilla rivalry is a good thing for the Internet. Explorer is baaaaaaad.
For reference: Running 2.5 GHz Intel MacBook Pro OS X 10.5.6 with 4 GB DDR2.

Sweet. Can't wait for Safari to lag out and beach ball into infinity some more with all these new resource hog functionalities.
