for the record, the changed the terms back because of the massive negative response they got ..
it's now all back to the old facebook terms until they can figure themselves out ..

What happens if Gary Glitter had a sh*tload of dodgy paedo pics that he uploaded to Facebook and they werent flagged because nobody ever visited that page ....
... could he report facebook for OWNING dodgy shit?
... cos by clicking those T&C's Gary's signed all his pics away to the ownership of facebook, no?

This whole thing is......well...retarded
You don't use Facebook as a professional portfolio hosting service
Don't post every single intimate detail of your life
If you do post intimate or embarrassing photos...don't be naive enough to think they can't get out...even if Facebook promises they won't.
Facebook doesn't want your silly photos...to do what? use in advertising? I highly doubt facebook searches profiles like a stock photo website....
If your friends post embarrassing photos of you.....beat them severly...don't cry to Facebook...
arrrghhh.....or if you're a professional who legitimetly wants to keep in contact with friends & colleagues - do so in a manner that won't compromise you or don't use Facebook...do it through private e-mail
arrghhh...ridiculous

it's a social networking site...why would anyone post professional info there? or anything you wouldn't want public or saved/copied?

^ i try to explain that to some of my contacts, but they just don't get it. they continue to post extremely personal things and imo embarrass themselves. for some reason they remind me of kids running around in a candy store, hyped up on sugar.

Yeah I have a hard rule about never connecting with clients are co-workers who are not also "friends" for exactly that reason.
However, I've traded work back and forth with some friends on FB, so it has brought in some gigs.
Use yer heads, don't let clients see ass pics from a drunk night ten years ago.

I have not hired people because of what their myspace/facebook profile has revealed about their poor judgmental skills
perhaps this is wrong...but it's reality
