I am the exact opposite. I worry about nothing.
I never saw the point in it. Worrying accomplishes nothing in my eyes.
- I seriously need your influenceepikore
- Could also be I don't care about anything, have no concept of time, and assume everything will work out constantly but doing nothing to ensure its outcome.flavorful

- A healthy medium would probably be ideal, I'm afraid I'm way too far on the other side of the spectrum for anyone's good, haha.flavorful

maybe it's just related to the resemblance of your nickname to some greek philosopher.

It could be that you do have a chemical imbalance, and meds might be able to help out.
However, If you realize that what you worry about is out of your hands you might be able to solve your own problems. Think back to when you were a kid, and jumped a ramp with a bike or jumped off a roof.. you didn't think twice about "what could happen" you just did it and learned, which made you more aware of the what could's in life.
Focus on what matters most to you in life, and let everything else fall into place and is out of you hands and redirect your attention to something else.

worrying is a bad counselor.

Let's say you were bitten by a dog and now you're irrationally afraid of dogs. What can I do. Already found a therapist, I see one tomorrow.

- Essentially therapy. With a focus on avoid unhealthy patterns in your life. (GF's a psychologist).waterhouse
- Basically, it's talking to a shrink about your anxieties. Sometimes it works I guess.metal_leg_will

I too suffer from sometimes overwhelming anxiety. it can be paralyzing, but if you can get an Rx for xnx or something, that is super helpful. Otherwise, exercise helps as does sex and beer.

What about the risk of these medications? I've noticed in the high school shootings, most of the killers were on meds at one point or another.
- Meds aren't the definitive culprit in those matters.waterhouse
- see my response on the 2nd page. entirely different class of meds.threadpost
- the risk of xanax if liking it too much b/c it works so damn goodbliznutty
- Rx effect people differently. Regardless, the drugs were unlikely causal of the actions committed by those individuals, it was more likely the reasons that lead them to get on that medication.kerraaang

Lloyd try a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI)
See your doctor, explain your symptoms and he might diagnose you with a general anxiety disorder which the perscribe Paxil, zoloft, effexor etc... My friends are on them and it has done wonders for themThere are side effects like decreased libido, and weight gain in some instances, but the trade off is well worth it if anyone has had a real anxiety attack..

^yea, meds, music and videogames make people do bad stuff. it's got nothing to do with their up-bringing, education or social ignorance.
