so, after spending the night on the couch.... she came in and basically said she would give me a guilt free pass to screw around, have threesomes with her for years if i was willing to eventually give it all up for her a few years down the road. as much as i can be a total asshole a lot of time in life, i just can't burden that guilt and fuck her over more than i already have. i told her i was even willing to pay for her to move back to michigan, because she has no money and left a fully funded phd program offer in oregon to move here in utah. yea, it's that fucked up and messy.... i am a terrible fucking person

no, it's not your fault. Especially if you have red flags and she isn;t the one. Trust me, t would be messier 3 years down the road and you were married.
And to the point that she is giving you a pass. That is giving you the key to fire the nukes. It will destroy everything and nothing of that nature will make you see her in a better light. If you take that route and do get back with her, then you will always think you can have entitlement to screw around when everything is f-ed up in your relationship. Strange never solves anything, it just makes you want it more and more.

@ morilla, i agree with you on this... but i do feel like i have a major obligation to financially help her out of this mess, as she really doesn't have more than 100 bucks to her name right now, and her family definitely won't help her move back......

my ex is staying with me right now because of financial issues she was having and IT FUCKING SUCKS. i can't bring girls over here, and i have to hear her bitch about her life. i want to kick her out, but i'm a dude of my word and i said i'd help her.
it's probably penance for how i was treating her before. i was a total dick, fucked around - then tried to be good and make it work afterwords.
words to the wise, THAT SHIT DOESNT WORK. have her get out, move on...find other chicks. you'll thank all of us who have given you this advice.

I am personally at a similar crossroads. We're talking about marriage, children and forever, but there are some big, obvious red flags (poor communication, dishonesty, flirtatiousness, too independent, etc) that make it clear that she is not "the one" for me. As much as I love her and the time we spend together, I feel like I need to end this sooner rather than later, because the longer I wait, the harder it is going to be.

just had lunch with her, she is absolutely fucking serious about this. as long as i come home to her at the end of the night.... holy fuck. she put a time frame on it though i have a little over a year to do this. do i go through with it knowing that will it almost certainly fail?? she's already finding some of her girlfriends who would be willing....
